Pelvic organ prolapse (such as rectocele, cystocele, and uterine prolapse) can indeed be troubling, especially after an experience like a miscarriage and D&C. In Ayurveda, understanding your prakriti (constitution) and any imbalances in your doshas — primarily Vata dosha, which governs movement and spaces in the body — is crucial.

First, focus on nurturing Vata Dosha, as its imbalance may lead to weakness and prolapse conditions. Ensure regularity in your daily routine, emphasizing appropriate rest and sleep. Going to bed by 10 PM and waking up early can help regulate your body’s natural rhythms. Include grounding activities like pranayama, especially using Anulom-Vilom and deep breathing—daily, for 10 minutes each.

On the dietary front, focus on warm, oily, nourishing foods. Think of cooked vegetables such as carrots, sweet potato, and squash with healthy oils like ghee or sesame oil. Ayurveda emphasizes including herbs like triphala, which can be consumed at night mixed with warm water to support digestive health and reduce any constipation that could aggravate pelvic pressure.

Consider pelvic floor exercises tailored towards prolapse management. Though Kegel exercises are well-known, you should avoid over-strain—or perform them in alignment with Ayurvedic principles by focusing on gentle contractions and releasing.

There exist Ayurvedic potential treatments like basti (medicated enemas) to strengthen the pelvic area, but these should only be considered under the direct supervision of an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner. Avoid heavy lifting and avoid standing for long periods, as this can exacerbate symptoms. Use supportive Ayurvedic herbal supplements like Ashwagandha for strength and Shatavari for balancing reproductive health.

If symptoms persist or worsen, it’s important to consult with both an Ayurvedic practitioner and your regular doctor. They may provide additional insights or interventions which are necessary for your specific case. Don’t ignore these symptoms – they deserve attention and care. Prolapse issues are quite manageable with a holistic approach, so take small steps each day and monitor your progress.
