Experiencing a decrease in sexual desire and enthusiasm is not uncommon, particularly around menopause. At 48, it’s possible you may be undergoing perimenopausal changes which can contribute to your symptoms. This phase can significantly impact hormone levels, affecting both body and mind.

Taking 300mg to 500mg a day with warm milk can be beneficial. Also, practicing daily abhyanga, or oil massage, using sesame oil can ground Vata. Massaging the oil on your entire body before bath helps nourish and moisten the skin, including internal dryness.

Diet also plays a crucial part – prefer warm, cooked meals with good fats like ghee, which are nourishing and balancing for Vata. Hydration is important, but sipping warm, herb-infused water is more beneficial than cold drinks. Caffeine and sugar can exacerbate anxiety, so try to limit these.

On the emotional side, engaging in meditation or deep breathing exercises can ease anxiety over time. A simple practice of 10-15 minutes a day can bring noticeable change. For sexual dryness and libido, Shatavari is another herb that supports female health and reproductive system. You may take Shatavari powder, about a teaspoon stirred into a cup of warm milk, preferably at night.
