how to recover after masturbation - #24159

John

I am feeling kinda lost here. Recently, I noticed that I’ve been doing a lot of masturbation, like way more than usual. Sometimes it feels good, but then I just feel really drained afterward, you know? I read somewhere about how to recover after masturbation, but honestly, I’m not sure what to believe. A few days ago, I ended up feeling super tired and kind of foggy in my head. I mean, I even had to skip my workout because I just had zero energy. Plus, it felt like my mood was all over the place! I’ve tried drinking water and even some herbal tea, but it doesn’t feel like enough. Can Ayurveda help with how to recover after masturbation? Like, are there specific herbs or routines that can support this? Or is it just about cutting back on it? I keep thinking maybe I’m not doing it right, or there’s something I’m missing. Would love any advice!

Feeling drained after frequent masturbation is not uncommon, and it’s good that you’re looking into ways to adress this. Ayurveda looks at all aspects of life and health to identify balance. Here, your symptoms might relate to an imbalance of your doshas, likely the Vata and Pitta doshas, which when disturbed, can affect ojas (vitality), leading to feelings of fatigue.

One classical approach could be to nourish your body and mind to boost your energy and mood. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen widely used in Ayurveda for its rejuvenating properties that support energy levels and mental clarity. You could consider taking an Ashwagandha supplement, but start slow – a teaspoon of Ashwagandha powder with warm milk (cow or plant-based) in the evening can be calming. Make sure to consult a health professional before regularly adding any herbs to your routine.

Focus on grounding activities to pacify Vata, like yoga or light, mindful exercises rather than high-intensity workouts just after feeling drained. This, combined with meditation or slow, controlled breathing (pranayama), might help stabilize mood swings and enhance mental clarity.

On the dietary front, nourish your dhatus and restore energy by consuming warm, cooked meals with healthy fats, such as ghee and nuts, think about incorporating turmeric and ginger too for their anti-inflammatory benefits.

While cutting back on frequent masturbation might indeed help, approach it without overwhelming guilt or self-judgment. Gradually reduce frequency, observe how your body feels and listen to its needs.

Also, ensure that your routine supports a balanced Agni (digestive fire). Minimize consumption of stimulants like caffeine that may exacerbate energy crashes or mental fogginess.

If symptoms persist or interfere with daily life, seeking professional Ayurvedic consultation could offer you a personalized protocol considering your prakriti (constitution). Remember, balance doesn’t happen overnight, be paient with yourself as you find what works for you.
