Hello Lakhan, hair loss at a young age could be due to multiple reasons. Apart from genetic factors, diet, lifestyle, food deficiencies, chronic stress or sudden, severe stress, hormonal imbalance, and some illnesses like thyroid disease, anemia along with medications can cause hair disorders. It is therefore important to determine the cause of your hair loss. How is your digestion? Are you feeling constipated or do you have poor appetite? How is your sleep? Do you have any scalp infection or dandruff? Please get your blood checked as well for CBC, ESR, CRP, thyroid levels, haemoglobin, vitamin D and vitamin B12.

To address hair loss and greying, especially with a receding hairline, it’s essential to understand the underlying causes. Stress can significantly impact hair health, so it’s crucial to manage it effectively. Here are a few questions to consider:

Duration: How long have you been experiencing hair loss and greying? Diet: What does your typical diet look like? Are you consuming adequate nutrients, especially proteins, vitamins (like B-complex, vitamin E), and minerals (like iron and zinc)? Lifestyle: What is your daily routine like? Do you engage in regular physical activity or relaxation techniques? Scalp Health: Do you have any scalp issues like dandruff, itching, or irritation? Family History: Is there a family history of hair loss or premature greying? In Ayurveda, hair health is closely tied to the balance of Pitta dosha, which governs heat and metabolism in the body. Here are some Ayurvedic remedies to help promote hair growth and reduce greying:

Bhringraj Oil: Massaging your scalp with Bhringraj oil can nourish the hair follicles and promote hair growth. Warm the oil slightly and apply it to your scalp, leaving it on for a few hours or overnight before washing it out.

Amla (Indian Gooseberry): Amla is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. You can consume Amla juice or powder daily, or apply Amla oil to your scalp to strengthen hair and prevent greying.

Ashwagandha: This adaptogenic herb can help reduce stress and promote overall health. Consider taking Ashwagandha supplements or powder to help manage stress levels, which may positively impact hair health.

Dietary Changes: Incorporate foods rich in vitamins and minerals, such as leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and legumes. Foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, like flaxseeds and walnuts, are also beneficial.

Regular Massage: Scalp massage with warm oil can improve circulation to the hair follicles, enhancing hair growth.

Avoid Heat and Chemicals: Limit the use of hair styling tools and harsh chemical treatments that can damage hair.

Alright, so you’re dealing with a receeding hairline and some gray hairs starting to show up. In Ayurveda, hair issues like this often link back to dosha imbalances—mainly Pitta. Too much heat or stress can give you early greys or loss, so addressing that might be helpful.

First off, how’s your diet looking? Including loads of leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and even healthy fats can be game changers. Think coconut oil, amla (Indian gooseberry), sesame seeds. These are rich in nutrients that nourish the scalp and hair roots. Like, amla has been traditionally used 'cause it’s loaded with vitamin C, helps cool Pitta and promotes melanin production which might assist in reducing greyness.

Next, consider a consistent routine of scalp massage, if you’re not already doing that. Coconut or Bhringraj oil (known as “Kesh Raj” which means the king of hair) are common choices. Heat the oil slightly, apply to your scalp, and gently massage it in with your fingertips in circular motions. Do this a few times a week, maybe just before a shower. It’s a soothing ritual and improves blood flow to follicles.

Avoid really hot showers though; they may worsen hair loss. Rinse with cool or lukewarm water instead. Stress-relief techniques—could be yoga, meditation, or even just a daily walk—it helps in balancing vata and pitta too.

Now, about those greys, yoga or pranayama might be your friends here. Anything that reduces stress and calms the mind indirectly helps to normalize hair pigmentation.

And hey, if things don’t seem to improve, maybe see an Ayurvedic practitioner. You’d want someone assessing your individual constitution closely for tailored advice. Everyones’ prakriti (natural constitution) and vikriti (imbalanced state) is unique, so a personalize plan never hurts, right?

Remember, while Ayurveda has plenty to offer, sometimes combining it with conventional approaches provides the best solutions too. Just something to keep in mind!
