Doctors’ responses

It sounds like you're experiencing one-sided headaches with nausea and stomach discomfort, which could be due to migraines, tension headaches, or other conditions. In Ayurveda, headaches are often caused by imbalances in the doshas—Vata, Pitta, or Kapha. To address one-sided headaches, herbal remedies like Brahmi, Ashwagandha, and Jatamansi can help reduce stress and improve sleep. Turmeric and Ginger are anti-inflammatory and can relieve pain and nausea. Diet-wise, avoiding spicy or oily foods and incorporating cooling foods like cucumbers and coconut may help balance Pitta. Ayurvedic treatments such as Shirodhara (oil pouring therapy) and Abhyanga (oil massage) can also be effective in reducing stress and tension. Regular practices like yoga, meditation, and pranayama can support overall well-being and prevent headaches.

Experiencing one-sided headaches along with feeling tired, nausea, and stomach discomfort sounds challenging. From an ayurvedic perspective, this might be a sign of imbalance in your doshas, possibly Vata and Pitta. Not waking up feeling refreshed can also indicate issues with your Ojas, or overall vitality. Let's talk about a few things you might try: First, on waking, try gently massaging your scalp with warm sesame oil. Apply light pressure on your temples and behind the ears. Leave it on for 30 min or so, if possible, before washing it off. This can increase circulation and ease tension. If your schedule allows, try consuming a cup of lukewarm water with just a pinch of dried ginger and a teaspoon of honey after you wake up. This might help to stimulate Agni (digestive fire) and ease the nausea a bit. Diet-wise, consider increasing cooling foods like cucumber and cilantro in your meals and avoid spicy, fried or overly oily foods. Eating at regular intervals may also help balance your Pitta and stabilize your energy. Practicing Nasya could be effective here too - few drops of Anu taila or any sesame oil in each nostril before breakfast may soothe headaches. Stress management is key, as stress often magnifies headaches. Small mindfulness meditation or pranayama for 10-15 minutes a day, focusing on slow, deep breaths, can decrease stress levels. About the Naxdom, it works well for headaches but might not be a long-term solution. If your headaches become severe or don't improve, it’s important to visit a healthcare provider to rule out serious conditions. Remember, these are general suggestions and making big changes should happen with guidance from a professional. Do consider contacting an Ayurvedic practitioner nearby for more precise advice. Be gentle with yourself through this process.
