After a stroke, it's not uncommon to experience issues with bladder control due to nervous system involvement, which may affect the flow and retention of urine. In Ayurveda, this could be related to a disturbance in the vata dosha, which governs movement in the body, including the urinary system. Excessive urination during sleep may also point to a weakness in the kidneys or the urinary bladder. To help manage this, I would recommend strengthening your digestive fire (Agni) and supporting the urinary system with herbs like Gokshura, Punarnava, and Ashwagandha, which can help with kidney function and fluid balance. A warm, grounding diet with easy-to-digest foods and adequate hydration is important, while avoiding excessive cold or diuretic foods that might aggravate vata. Additionally, using herbal oils like Mahanarayan for gentle body massage can help improve circulation and support overall nervous system function. You may also benefit from yoga and pranayama exercises tailored to your mobility, which can help regulate body functions.

Dealing with hemiplegia after a stroke, especially with urinary issues like you're experiencing, can definitely be challenging.. In Ayurveda, this could be seen as an imbalance in your Vata dosha, given the sudden and unpredictable nature of the symptoms. Let's see some ways that might help. For dealing with excessive urination at night, one thing to try is timing your water intake. You might want to reduce liquid consumption in the late evening, perhaps after dinner, and see if that helps manage the frequency and volume of urine at night. Also, consider avoiding caffeine or alcohol as they can be diuretics. Another thing is strengthening the urinary system itself. Herbs such as Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) can be helpful in toning kidneys and may support better control. It's best to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner for the right dosage cause it can depend on individual factors like body constitution, other health conditions. Abhyanga, or oil massage, especially with warm sesame oil, might help not just for relaxation but to balance Vata more generally. Applying warm oil before bathing can be calming, though of course be gentle given your condition. Pelvic floor exercises could be beneficial, but I would definitely recommend speaking to a physiotherapist who can give guided exercises tailored to your specific needs. And don't overlook the power of Ashwagandha, a fantastic herb for nerve recovery and stress management. These points are often handled similarly with a blend of both modern medical advice and Ayurvedic help. Remembering to pace oneself is crucial. Too much or the wrong kind of advice can get messy , so take steps at a time, and see what really works for you as an individual. If the problem persists or gets to be too much, always best to speak with a medical professional right away.
