Doctors' responses
Hello,
Based on the symptoms you described, a few things may be happening.
After gallbladder removal (cholecystectomy), bile flows continuously into the intestine instead of being stored and released only during meals. Because of this, some people experience burning or pain in the right upper abdomen, especially after fatty food, smoking, or heavy meals. If you already have Bile Reflux, the bile can irritate the stomach and cause a persistent burning sensation.
Regarding medicines: Liv.52 or Liv.52 DS are generally used as liver-supportive herbal formulations and are usually considered safe even in people who do not have a gallbladder, especially if fatty liver is present.
Neem has antimicrobial and digestive-supportive properties in traditional medicine, but if you have constipation history and dryness in the skin you should avoid taking Neem, otherwise its safe.
The fact that Psyllium husk helps a little suggests that the problem you are having is related to digestion and gut health
Some general things that may help:
Avoid very fatty, fried, spicy foods and yogurt
Eat small, frequent meals instead of large meals.
Reduce or stop smoking/nicotine, as it can worsen bile reflux.
Avoid lying down immediately after eating and strictly avoid day sleep.
Continue fiber like psyllium on alternate days if it suits you.
Can have castor oil 2 spoon with warm water in the bed time this soothes the gut.
Walk 100-200 steps 45 minutes after your meals this can encourage the stomach to empty at a healthy pace, preventing food from sitting too long in the stomach, which can cause burning, acidity, or reflux.
If the burning and right-sided pain are persistent, it would be good to consult a good ayurveda physician if available or a gastroenterologist to rule out bile reflux gastritis, SIBO, or other digestive issues and to decide the correct treatment.
