Doctors' responses
Hello, A creatinine level of 125 µmol/L after hospitalization for pneumonia can sometimes occur due to temporary stress on the kidneys. Severe infections like Pneumonia and strong antibiotics such as Tazocin can occasionally affect kidney function for a short period of time. Here are some general recommendations: 1. Maintain good hydration Drink adequate water throughout the day (unless your doctor has advised fluid restriction). Proper hydration helps the kidneys clear waste products like Creatinine. 2. Repeat kidney function tests It is advisable to repeat kidney function tests (KFT) after 1–2 weeks to see if the creatinine level is improving. Sometimes the elevation is temporary after infection or medication. 3. Avoid kidney stressors Try to avoid unnecessary painkillers such as Ibuprofen or Diclofenac, as these can further strain the kidneys. 4. Light and kidney-friendly diet For some time, keep the diet simple—avoid excessive high-protein, very salty, or processed foods, and include easily digestible meals. 5. Monitor symptoms Seek medical advice sooner if you notice symptoms like reduced urine output, swelling in legs/face, fatigue, or persistent nausea. From an Ayurvedic perspective, supportive herbs and dietary measures may help in recovery, but they should be started only after reviewing your full reports and medical history. If the creatinine remains elevated, it would be best to consult a physician for proper evaluation. If you would like, you can consult for ayurveda herbs and kidney supportive medicine and diet.
