What Is MCH Normal Range and How Can Ayurveda Help in Maintaining Healthy Blood Function? - #15075

Anonymously

I recently had some blood tests done, and one of the values that came up was MCH (Mean Corpuscular Hemoglobin). The test results indicated that my MCH is on the lower end of the normal range. I’ve read that this could indicate that my red blood cells might be smaller than usual, which could lead to issues like fatigue or weakness. While my doctor didn’t seem too concerned, I’ve been feeling more tired and low on energy, and I’m looking for ways to naturally improve my blood health. I’ve heard that Ayurveda can help with blood health by supporting the production of red blood cells and improving overall circulation. Are there specific Ayurvedic herbs like Ashwagandha, Triphala, or Beetroot that can help increase hemoglobin levels and improve blood health? Could these herbs help raise my MCH into a more optimal range? Additionally, I want to know if there are any Ayurvedic dietary recommendations that can help improve the health of my blood. Should I be consuming more iron-rich foods or herbs that support the blood's ability to carry oxygen? Has anyone here worked on improving their MCH or overall blood health using Ayurvedic remedies? What herbs, foods, or lifestyle changes helped you achieve a healthy balance in your blood and energy levels?

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Low MCH levels can indicate smaller red blood cells or lower hemoglobin, which may contribute to fatigue and weakness. While your doctor isn’t overly concerned, it’s understandable that you want to take steps to support your blood health naturally. In Ayurveda, herbs like Ashwagandha and Triphala are known for their ability to support overall vitality and improve hemoglobin levels. Ashwagandha is particularly helpful for boosting energy and promoting healthy red blood cell production. Beetroot is rich in nitrates and iron, which can help improve oxygen-carrying capacity and circulation. Shatavari and Punarnava are also commonly used for nourishing blood and improving energy. Diet is key as well. Ayurveda recommends consuming iron-rich, easy-to-digest foods like cooked leafy greens, lentils, beets, pomegranates, and black raisins. Pair these with vitamin C-rich foods like lemon or oranges to enhance iron absorption. Also, ensure your digestion is strong, as poor digestion can hinder nutrient absorption. Simple lifestyle practices like gentle exercise, yoga, and pranayama (breathing exercises) can also improve circulation and oxygenation. Deep breathing can help enhance oxygen exchange and energy levels. These holistic measures may help raise your MCH and improve your energy over time. If your symptoms persist, be sure to check in with your doctor for further evaluation. Wishing you strength and vitality!
