Hyperplasia – Can It Be Reversed Naturally with Ayurveda? - #15973

Anonymously

Last year, I was diagnosed with hyperplasia after experiencing irregular and heavy periods for months. The doctor explained that hyperplasia occurs when there’s excessive cell growth in the uterus lining due to hormonal imbalance, particularly too much estrogen. They suggested hormonal therapy, but I’m really hesitant because I’ve read about its side effects. I started looking into alternative treatments, and I found that Ayurveda offers natural ways to balance hormones. But does it actually work for hyperplasia? Can Ayurvedic herbs or dietary changes reverse this condition? I’ve heard that turmeric, ashwagandha, and shatavari are good for balancing estrogen, but I’m not sure how to use them. Should they be taken as supplements, teas, or incorporated into food? Also, are there specific foods I should avoid that might worsen hyperplasia? One thing that worries me is whether hyperplasia could turn into something more serious, like cancer, if left untreated. Does Ayurveda have a way to prevent this from happening? If anyone has successfully managed hyperplasia through Ayurvedic treatments, please share your experience. I want to make the best decision for my body.

Endometrial hyperplasia is primarily caused by excess estrogen without enough progesterone, leading to the thickening of the uterine lining. Ayurveda views this as a Pitta and Kapha imbalance, where excess heat (Pitta) and stagnation (Kapha) contribute to irregular and heavy periods. Ayurvedic treatments focus on hormonal balance, detoxification, and improving metabolism (Agni) to regulate the menstrual cycle naturally. Herbs like Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) and Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) help balance hormones by supporting reproductive health and reducing stress-induced hormonal fluctuations. Turmeric (Haridra) acts as a natural anti-inflammatory and supports detoxification. Kanchnar Guggulu and Triphala help reduce excess tissue growth and regulate estrogen levels. These can be taken as powders or tablets under Ayurvedic guidance. Diet-wise, avoid dairy, refined sugars, and processed foods, which can worsen estrogen dominance. Instead, include flaxseeds, sesame seeds, and cruciferous vegetables to support hormone metabolism. Since untreated hyperplasia may increase the risk of complications, regular Panchakarma therapies like Virechana (therapeutic purgation) and Udvartana (herbal powder massage) can help detoxify excess hormones. Yoga and Pranayama, especially Baddha Konasana (Butterfly pose) and Anulom Vilom, improve circulation to the reproductive organs. With consistent Ayurvedic treatment, diet, and lifestyle changes, many women have successfully managed hyperplasia naturally. However, regular medical checkups are essential to monitor progress and ensure safety.
