In Ayurveda, recurring typhoid may be viewed as a recurrent jwara (fever) due to weakened Agni (digestive fire) and Ama (toxins) accumulation.

Typhoid recurrance can be frustrating, indeed. Ayurveda can provide some insights and remedies, though I must mention the importance of maintaining proper hygiene and food safety, which are key to preventing typhoid. Recurring typhoid could be due to exposure to the bacteria (Salmonella typhi) repeatedly or incomplete treatment. Ayurveda looks at strengthening your immune system and balance your doshas which may aid in prevention.

Firstly, let’s talk about your agni, or digestive fire. In Ayurveda, a weak agni can make you prone to infections. To improve this, try taking trikatu churna (a mix of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) - 1/4 teaspoon with warm water, 30 mins before meals, twice daily. It’ll help stimulate digestion and metabolism. Be cautious though, it might not be suitable if you have ulcers or sensitivity.

Your doshic balance is also crucial. Typhoid can be associated with aggravated pitta dosha. Avoid pitta-aggravating food like spicy, fried, and overly sour items. Instead, include cooling foods like cucumber, cilantro, and bitter gourd. A daily drink of pomegranate juice can help too, as it’s both nourishing and cooling.

On the immunity front, strengthening the body’s natural defense is vital. Chyawanprash, about a teaspoon every morning, can be a wonderful ally. It’s a traditional herbal jam that supports immunity and rejuvenation. And guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia), known for its immune-boosting properties, can be taken as a supplement but follow the dosage as recommended by an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Keep your stress in check with practices like yoga or pranayama, as stress can adversely affect your immunity. Regular exercise, good sleep, and a balanced routine further contribute to a healthy immune system.

It’s essential to consult a healthcare or ayurvedic professional before making any changes, ensuring that these approaches are right for you. Stay mindful of the surroundings, ensuring water and food are safe, as prevention of contamination is fundamental. If symptoms recur, consult a doctor. Ayurveda offers supportive measures, but medical supervision for prevention is equally important.
