Dr. Harshita Hyati
I have gained comprehensive clinical experience through my internship and professional duties, which has laid a strong foundation for my medical practice. During my internship, I worked extensively across multiple departments, including casualty, general medicine, general surgery, and obstetrics & gynecology at the Government District Hospital, Gadag. This exposure allowed me to handle a variety of acute and chronic cases, sharpen my clinical assessment skills, and actively participate in patient management under the guidance of senior medical professionals. Following this, I served as a duty doctor at AYUSH Hospital, Gadag Betgeri, where I applied my Ayurvedic knowledge in a clinical setting and contributed to patient care in both outpatient and inpatient departments. I successfully completed 366 days of rigorous internship training at DGM Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Gadag, where I was involved in patient evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning under supervision. My time there allowed me to integrate classical Ayurvedic principles with practical patient care while developing a keen understanding of hospital operations and multidisciplinary collaboration. These experiences have enhanced my ability to handle diverse medical conditions confidently while maintaining a patient-centered approach. I am dedicated to continuing my journey as an Ayurvedic practitioner with the same passion and commitment, focusing on delivering quality, evidence-based, and holistic healthcare.

Managing major depression with Ayurvedic medicine alongside your current antidepressant, Sertraline, could potentially benefit your overall treatment, but it's crucial to do this carefully. In Ayurveda, depression might be linked to an imbalance of vata dosha, often aggravated by stress, poor sleep, or improper diet. Here are some tailored suggestions for your condition. First, consider Ashwagandha, well-known for its adaptogenic properties. It can help in reducing stress and improving mood, so taking about 500 mg twice daily with warm water might help stabilize energy levels and mood swings. However, always consult with a local Ayurvedic practitioner before starting to avoid potential interactions. Brahmi is another herb traditionally used to enhance cognitive function and calm the mind. Try a teaspoon of Brahmi juice or 500 mg capsule twice daily. It may support your mental clarity and boost your mood. For your sleep issues, Shankhapushpi can be beneficial. A teaspoon of Shankhapushpi syrup before bedtime can help calm the mind and promote restful sleep. It helps reduce excitement and worry, facilitating deeper relaxation. Dietary changes can also support your treatment. Include warm, grounding foods like cooked vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. A dairy-rich diet with ghee (clarified butter) can nourish your nervous system. Avoid excessive cold, dry foods, caffeine, and overly spicy items. Regular Abhyanga (oil massage) with warm sesame or almond oil can reduce vata imbalances, enhancing relaxation and supporting your energy levels. Try yoga or pranayama breathing exercises daily, even just a few minutes, supporting both physical and mental wellness. However, ensure coordination with your healthcare providers both Ayurvedic and allopathic. Balancing treatments to ensure safety and efficacy is essential. If symptoms worsen or become unmanageable, seek immediate medical attention without delay.
