For dealing with a grade 1 fatty liver, along with gastritis, acid reflux, and indigestion issues, Ayurveda offers some effective strategies aimed at addressing the root cause based on dosha imbalances. Your symptoms suggest a Pitta imbalance, specifically related to agni (digestive fire). Here's a detailed approach: First, let's look at your diet. To pacify Pitta and aid liver function, consume a diet that's cooling, light and easily digestible. Include more vegetables like cucumber, broccoli, and zucchini. Fruits like pears and pomegranate are beneficial too. Try to avoid hot spices, fried foods, and processed sugars which can aggravate Pitta and worsen reflux and gastritis. Drink plenty of room temperature water to help with constipation. Timing your meals can make a difference here. Aim to eat at regular intervals, distributing your meals evenly throughout the day. That helps to maintain a balanced agni, preventing excess production of acids. Stick with smaller meals to avoid overloading your stomach, especially if you're struggling with indigestion. Evening meals should be lighter, avoiding heavy or greasy substances. Some Ayurvedic herbs like Amla (Indian gooseberry) can be supportive, especially for the liver and digestive issues you mentioned. You might take Amla powder with lukewarm water each morning. A teaspoon of Triphala at night can help with constipation. In your daily routine, reduce stress as it often exacerbates both gastritis and liver conditions. Engage in relaxation practices such as yoga and pranayama (breathing exercises). Gentle movements like walking can encourage digestion without straining your system. Lastly, limit or eliminate alcohol consumption if that applies, as it's particularly harsh on the liver. And if any symptoms become severe or alarming, it's essential to seek immediate medical attention promptly—don’t delay there. Prioritize balance, moderation, and consistency in following these recommendations for some weeks to see substantial improvement.
