Doctors' responses

Namaste, At 2.7 years of age, a child may sometimes have low appetite or slow weight gain, especially if they are picky with food. It is important to focus on regular nutrition and healthy eating habits rather than giving strong herbal powders without proper guidance. Simple measures that may help: Offer small, frequent meals instead of forcing large meals. Include nutritious foods like mashed banana, khichdi, dal, eggs (if suitable), fruits, milk, and homemade porridge. Avoid too many snacks, sweets, or packaged foods, as they can reduce appetite for proper meals. Encourage active play and regular routine, which can help improve hunger. Try to make food colorful and attractive so the child becomes more interested in eating. Since her weight is quite low for her age, it would also be good to consult a pediatrician to check growth, nutrition, and rule out any deficiency. Ayurvedic medicines sometimes used to support appetite and nourishment in children include: Bala Ghrita – traditionally used in small doses to support nourishment and strength. Draksharishta (in appropriate pediatric dose) – sometimes used to support digestion and appetite. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.
