It sounds like you're experiencing persistent symptoms of gastritis, which in Ayurveda, is often tied to an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, leading to agni (digestive fire) irregularities. To help manage and reduce your symptoms, a few personalized Ayurvedic strategies can be considered. Dietary habits play a crucial role. First and foremost, try to eat at regular intervals, ideally three to four hours apart, to ensure your digestive system isn't overloaded. Consuming smaller, lighter meals can help food process more efficiently. Aim to include cooling, soothing foods such as cucumbers, watermelon, and coconut water, which are good for calming Pitta. Avoid spicy, oily, and acidic foods that can aggravate your condition, alongside caffeinated beverages, alcohol, and chocolate. Since reflux and bloating occur post-meal, practice mindful eating — chew your food thoroughly and eat slowly to aid digestion. Pay attention to your body's hunger signals to avoid overeating. From a herbal perspective, Trikatu, an Ayurvedic blend containing ginger, black pepper, and long pepper, can enhance digestive fire, when used properly. Take one teaspoon of Trikatu powder with honey, about half an hour before your main meals, but ensure to consult an Ayurvedic physician before taking any herbal supplement to confirm its suitability for you. Keep an eye on your lifestyle too. Stress is a common factor in digestive issues, so engage in activities like yoga or meditation to reduce stress and promote relaxation. Additionally, maintaining a regular sleep schedule and ensuring adequate hydration are key to supporting digestion. If your symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to continue consulting with your healthcare provider to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. Such complex issues sometimes require a combined approach including modern medical interventions alongside holistic practices.
