How can papaya for periods help with menstrual irregularities? - #22119

Connor

I am really curious about this thing I heard about papaya for periods. So, a while back, I started noticing that my cycles have been all over the place, like super irregular. Sometimes I would go months without my period, and when it did come, it was heavy and painful, which really sucks! A friend mentioned that papaya for periods could actually help with that. I tried doing some internet research, and they say papaya helps to regulate periods because of some enzyme it has or somthing. But I’m not sure if it’s true, and like how exactly would I go about incorporating papaya for periods into my diet? Do I just eat it raw? Should I blend it into a smoothie? I’m kinda hesitant about taking anything too drastic... I want to do this naturally. Also, are there any side effects with papaya for periods? Like, what happens if I eat too much? I’ve been feeling overwhelmed with trying to fix everything by myself, ya know? It’s like, one unhealthy thing leads to another. Any experience or advice would be so helpful! I really hope papaya for periods actually works!

Yes papaya fruit cause uterine muscle contraction it’s ELIVATES pitta dosha and females having amenorrhea or oilgomenorria or low mensis or delay mensis can ELIVATES periods properly

But in metoraghia or dysmenorrhia when heavy flow with pain in mensis it should be avoided

I think you should chest your thyroid level and do pelvic scan to identify real cause

Papaya indeed has a place in Ayurveda for supporting menstrual health. The fruit, particularly when raw, is known for its rich content of papain enzyme which is thought to help modulate the menstrual cycle by encouraging the production of estrogen. This can potentially address irregularities like missed periods and aid in balancing the hormonal rhythms necessary for a stable cycle. However, it’s not a one-stop solution or guaranteed fix-all, and it works best in tandem with an aligned lifestyle.

To incorporate papaya into your regimen, you can start by consuming a small bowl of ripe papaya daily, preferably on an empty stomach to aid digestion and absorption. If preferred, you can blend it into a smoothie with some ginger and lime for extra flavor and added digestive benefits. Just be cautious about portion size—moderation is key. Overconsumption might lead to digestive issues like upset stomach or laxative effects due to its high fiber and enzyme content.

Additionally, aligning your diet and lifestyle with your dosha may be beneficial. If you experience heavy, painful periods, there might be a Vata or Pitta imbalance. Ensuring your meals are warm, cooked, and nourishing can help stabilize these doshas. Engage in gentle exercises and yoga to help support your body’s balance too.

Do be cautious if you are pregnant or planning pregnancy, as excessive raw papaya has compounds that can potentially affect uterine contractions. If symptoms persist or worsen, it would be wise to consult an experienced practitioner to rule out any underlying conditions that may need targeted interventions. Balancing your overall lifestyle through Ayurveda can offer a more sustainable approach to tackling such irregularities with patience and consistency.
