What are some effective Ayurvedic treatments for eczema that have worked for you? - #22157

Charles

I am really curious about ayurveda ayurvedic treatment for eczema because I've been struggling with this skin issue for so long now. It started a few months ago, I thought it was just dry skin, but leter it got worse! Now I have these itchy red patches all over my elbows and behind my knees, and it’s driving me crazy. Nothing seems to be help, not even the creams from the doctor. I’ve tried some over-the-counter stuff, like hydrocortisone, but nahhhh, no relief! I've heard from a few friends who swear by ayurveda ayurvedic treatment for eczema, saying it’s more natural and much more gentle. Like, are there specific herbs or oils that are really good? Or maybe dietary changes that can help calm down my flare-ups? I read somewhere that some foods might actually trigger eczema, which like, makes sense, you know? I just feel so lost. I even attempted some home remedies, but they didn’t do much—just made me feel like a science experiment gone wrong! If anyone has tips or personal stories with ayurveda ayurvedic treatment for eczema that actually worked or just any advice, I would be super grateful. I want to stop this itchiness and just go back to living my life without constantly scratching! Thanks in advance, hoping for some sage wisdom here!

Your story is incredibly relatable , so many people go through the same issues like itching, application of steroid creams, short-term relief, and then flare up, Through Ayurveda, along with externally, it will also help you in healing internally that is from root cause According to Ayurveda, eczema is due to Balance in Kapha pitta and Rakta dosha

So you can take Kayakalpa vati- One tablet twice daily before food with water Neemghan vati* kaishore guggulu- One tablet twice daily after food with water Mahamanjistha aristha- 4 teaspoon with equal quantity of water twice daily after food Avoid spicy, sour non veg food Bring plenty of fluids, coconut water, buttermilk Coconut oil+ turmeric- apply at dry areas/eczema

Eczema, as seen through the lens of Ayurveda, often corresponds to a Vata-Pitta imbalance. This essentially means there’s an excess of dryness (from Vata) and inflammation (from Pitta) in the body. Addressing these imbalances lies at the heart of Ayurvedic treatment strategies.

First, let’s delve into dietary habits. Opt for a diet that’s both cooling and nourishing to counter these excesses. Focus on including foods that are calming for Vata and soothing for Pitta. Incorporate sweet fruits like ripe bananas, melons, and grapes instead of sour or spicy foods. Cook with ghee and coconut oil instead of mustard or almond oil, as they’re naturally cooling and moisturizing, aligning with your needs. Reduce processed foods and always strive for freshly prepared meals.

For topical treatments, a gentle approach helps soothe the skin without irritation. You may find some relief using neem oil or calendula-based creams. Neem is a classic Ayurvedic herb noted for its anti-inflammatory properties, effectively balancing the excess Pitta. Calendula, meanwhile, is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and skin-healing properties.

Herbs can also offer support from within. Turmeric and ashwagandha are known for their impressive anti-inflammatory effects. To use turmeric effectively, make a beverage with warm milk (or a milk alternative) with a pinch of turmeric at night. Ashwagandha can be taken as a supplement, but it’s advisable to consult with a practitioner for appropriate dosage.

Importance also lies in lifestyle adjustments. Try oil massages (Abhyanga) with sesame or almond oil which nourish the skin. This practice is deeply hydrating and can be administered before a warm bath. Establish a routine soothes the nervous system and reduces stress, critical to alleviating eczema triggers.

Hydration is another underestimated factor. Ensure you’re drinking ample water and herbal teas that serve to cool and hydrate—think chamomile or fennel tea.

Lastly, Ayurveda emphasizes the power of meditation and pranayama (breathing exercises) in harmonizing bodily energies and nurturing the mind-body connection. Aim to embrace these practices to create an environment of ongoing relaxation and stress relief.
