Doctors’ responses
Your symptoms of severe hair fall, visible scalp, and scalp pimples may indicate a Pitta-Vata imbalance or underlying scalp infection. Here’s an evidence-based Ayurvedic approach:
1. Scalp and Hair Oils
Bhringraj Oil: Known to strengthen hair roots and improve blood flow. It contains Eclipta alba, which can help reduce hair fall and promote growth.
Neelibhringadi Oil: A blend with Bhringraj, Amla, and Indigo, effective for hair loss and scalp issues like dandruff.
How to Use: Warm the oil, massage into the scalp for 10-15 minutes, leave for at least 1 hour, then wash off.
2. Internal Formulations
Narasimha Rasayanam: Supports hair growth and reduces hair loss. Contains Amalaki (Amla) for nutrient support.
Bhringarajasava: Balances Pitta and Vata, reducing scalp inflammation and promoting hair health.
Dosage: Follow practitioner guidance, typically 1-2 teaspoons twice daily.
3. Herbal Supplements
Triphala Churna: Aids digestion and detoxification, crucial for hair health.
Manjishtadi Kashaya: Purifies the blood and helps with scalp acne.
4. Diet and Lifestyle
Pitta-pacifying diet: Avoid spicy, fried, and acidic foods.
Include Omega-3 rich foods like flaxseeds and walnuts.
Manage stress with Pranayama and avoid hot water on the scalp.
Evidence-Based Insights
Eclipta alba (Bhringraj): Shown to increase hair growth and follicle count.
Amla: High in antioxidants, supports collagen for stronger hair.
Triphala: Has anti-inflammatory properties beneficial for scalp health.
Recommendation
For chronic hair fall, a consistent plan with topical and internal treatments is key. Consult an Ayurvedic doctor for tailored advice and expect results in 3-6 months with regular use.

Oof, hair troubles can be such a bother. From an Ayurvedic viewpoint, it sounds like an imbalance with your doshas—could be Pitta and Vata are acting up. Pitta, with its fiery nature, might be causing inflammation, resulting in those pesky pimples. Vata might be drying things out, leading to scanty hair. First things first, let's try cooling and calming these doshas down. Try massaging your scalp gently with bhringraj oil, ideally warm it up a bit before use for a couple of nights each week. This can soothe the scalp and help nourish hair.
Diet plays a big role too. Make sure to include foods that cool Pitta, like cucumbers, coconut water, and ghee. Maybe avoid spicy, fried foods cos they can aggravate Pitta more. Also, sesame seeds or almonds can be a nice addition, they do wonders for Vata and Pitta balance.
Pimples on the scalp can be such a nuisance. A paste of neem leaves could help here; it's both cooling and purifying. Just grind a few leaves with some water and apply it to affected areas, leave it on for 15 mins or so before rinsing.
For overall hair care, consider using a mild herbal shampoo, something like a reetha-based one, to avoid any harsh chemicals that could irritate the scalp more. Doesn't hurt to get enough sleep too, poor Zzzs can throw off your body’s natural balance. Try to aim for a solid 7-8 hours.
Also, stress — watch out for that sneaky culprit, as it can worsen both hair loss and skin issues. Practices like yoga, pranayama or even just a few minutes of meditation might help chill things down. And always keep hydrated, water is simple but oh so effective.
If things don't get better or worsen, it might not be a bad idea to seek a professional for a deeper analysis, sometimes underlying issues need checking out. You know your body best, trust what it's telling you.
