Indeed, hearing difficulties are common as we age, but Ayurveda offers some supportive measures. The decline in hearing can be connected to imbalances in Vata dosha, which governs sensory functions. Here's what might help: First off, some daily ear care practices can show improvement. Try using Anu taila, a traditional Ayurvedic herbal oil, for ear drops. Warm a slight amount and put 2-3 drops in each ear every morning. This can help lubricate the auditory canal and support overall ear health. Make sure it's not too hot to avoid any discomfort. Hearing health is also about maintaining overall Vata balance. Regular oil massage, or Abhyanga, can be beneficial. Applying warm sesame oil to the entire body before taking a warm bath can pacify Vata. This should be practice daily or at least 3 times a week. Your diet is another crucial aspect. Dish out meals that are warm, moist, and grounding - like whole grains, cooked vegetables, and soups. Avoid cold, raw, or drying foods that can increase Vata. Certain herbs may be useful too. Ashwagandha and Brahmi could improve nerve function and cognitive support. You may consider making a tea or using these herbs in powdered form under professional guidance. Pranayama, like slow and deep breathing exercises, can also help. Practicing it each day can improve overall circulation, benefiting the ears indirectly. Remember to remain consistent with these practices for a few months, cause these changes are subtle but effective over time. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner before starting any herbal regimen, especially if you have existing health conditions. If the problem persists or worsens, please don't hesitate to seek out professional audiological help.
