Experiencing hair fall along with dandruff can be quite troubling, especially at your age, but don't worry, there are ways to address it with Ayurveda. Dandruff is often linked to an imbalance of the doshas, primarily Pitta and Vata. When these are aggravated, it can lead to dry scalp, which might be contributing to your hair fall. First, let's address the dandruff. Regularly massaging your scalp with warm coconut oil or sesame oil can help. Warm the oil slightly and apply it onto the scalp, gently massaging it with your fingertips. Leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing it off. This should be done two to three times a week. Incorporating herbs like neem and bhringraj can also be beneficial. You can mix neem powder with water to create a paste, applying it to your scalp for about 15 minutes before rinsing. Bhringraj oil can also be gently massaged into the scalp. Consider your diet as well, as it's a crucial aspect of Ayurvedic treatment. Increase your intake of fruits and leafy greens, and consume foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, like flaxseeds and walnuts. Reduce the intake of spicy, oily, and junk food, which can aggravate Pitta and Vata. Stress is another factor that can exacerbate hair fall and dandruff, so incorporating some relaxation techniques such as yoga or meditation might be very helpful. Try to get adequate rest and maintain a regular sleep schedule to keep your doshas in balance. If symptoms persist or become more severe, it would be wise to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized treatment. This ensures a holistic approach that’s properly tailored to your unique constitution. In severe cases, visit a qualified dermatologist or healthcare professional to determine if there are underlying medical conditions that require immediate attention.
