Given your symptoms, it sounds like there might be an imbalance in the Vata dosha, particularly affecting the Prana Vata and Udana Vata, which govern the nervous system and balance. Vertigo and dizziness indicate that the energy channels, or nadis, might be disrupted. Here’s what you can consider from a Siddha-Ayurvedic perspective.
Firstly, it’s important to address your symptoms with a qualified healthcare provider to rule out serious conditions. As your system has been experiencing significant discomfort, timely medical evaluation is a priority.
Meanwhile, in the Ayurvedic context, grounding and balancing the Vata dosha is essential. Start by incorporating warming and grounding foods like root vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats like ghee. Regular meals, avoiding cold, raw, and dry foods, can help stabilize Vata.
Engage in gentle Yoga exercises, focusing on calming poses that ground the body, such as Child’s pose or Corpse pose. Deep breathing exercises like Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) can help to calm the mind and nervous system.
Consider using warm oil massages (Abhyanga) with sesame oil, focusing on the head, particularly around the ear and neck areas. Doing this before bedtime can promote better sleep and alleviate stress on the auditory nerves.
Conclusion of the practices mentioned above with warm herbal teas such as ginger or tulsi can help with the symptoms. Tulsi tea, for example, is known for its calming effects on the nervous system.
Spinning sensations might also relate to an inner ear imbalance. However, this is something that might need a physician’s insight if it persists. If you tend to feel off balance, focusing on maintaining a regular sleep cycle could be quite beneficial, as Vata responds well to routine.
Finally, managing stress and anxiety is important. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that can assist in balancing stress levels. But, make sure to consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner before adding new herbs or supplements to your routine to ensure they suit your unique constitution and health status.

The symptoms you’re describing, such as vertigo, dizziness, headaches, and ear-related issues, can be quite unsettling, and suggest imbalances that may require a careful approach. In Ayurveda, these symptoms may relate to a Vata imbalance, which can affect the nervous system and induce conditions like vertigo and dizziness. Here are some recommendations based on Ayurvedic principles:
First, addressing the Vata imbalance is essential. Try consuming warm, nourishing foods such as soups, stews, and broths. Use spices like cumin, coriander, ginger, and fennel to support digestion and reduce Vata. Avoid caffeine and stimulants which can exacerbate Vata conditions.
For those spinning sensations in vertigo, consider a daily application of warm sesame oil or Brahmi oil to the scalp and soles of your feet. Leave it on for 15-30 minutes before a warm shower. This can ground the Vata and offer some calm to your nervous system.
Practicing Pranayama (breathing exercises) such as Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing) helps in stabilizing the mind and reducing anxiety. Do this for 5-10 minutes daily, ideally in the morning.
For dizziness and lack of mental clarity, herbal teas with Tulsi (holy basil) or Brahmi can be beneficial. Steep one teaspoon of the herb in hot water and drink once or twice a day.
Sleep with your head slightly elevated and prefer sleeping on your left side to promote balanced airflow. These measures may help in reducing the vertigo episodes.
Make sure to manage anxiety by creating a routine, engaging in gentle physical activity like walking or yoga, and avoiding excessive screen time.
If any symptoms worsen, it is crucial to seek immediate medical attention - vertigo and the associated symptoms can sometimes indicate underlying conditions requiring conventional diagnosis and treatment. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new health regimen, especially if symptoms are persistent or severe.
