Doctors’ responses

Thank you for opening up. Hair fall at 26, especially with visible thinning and no family history, is your body’s way of signaling an internal imbalance and the good thing is, when caught early, it’s absolutely manageable. In Ayurveda, hair is considered a by-product of bone tissue (Asthi Dhatu) and is also closely related to Pitta dosha and Rasadhatu (nutritional plasma). Excessive heat in the body, poor digestion, irregular eating, late nights, stress, or even frequent use of chemical-based products can disturb this delicate balance and weaken hair roots. Here’s what I recommend to begin with: 🌿 Basic Ayurvedic Hair Fall Routine (Generalized) 1. Start oiling your scalp 3–4 times a week Use a lukewarm mix of Bhringraj taila + coconut oil, massaging gently at night. This nourishes roots and calms excess Pitta. 2. Take 1 tsp Amla powder with lukewarm water or honey daily in the morning. Amla is Rasayana, it strengthens roots, improves digestion, and supports natural hair color. 3. Mind your digestion (Agni) • Avoid fried, spicy, or stale food • Eat fresh, warm meals on time • Include soaked raisins and ghee in your diet for internal cooling and nourishment 4. Manage stress & sleep Hair health is deeply tied to your mental state. Try to sleep by 10:30 PM and avoid screens at least 30 minutes before bedtime. 5. Avoid frequent hair washing with harsh shampoos Use a mild herbal shampoo or shikakai-based product 2–3 times a week. 6. Hydration matters Sip warm water throughout the day and avoid iced drinks. This is a general guidance based on what you’ve shared. But the best results come when the approach matches your specific Prakriti (body type) and root cause whether it’s Pitta aggravation, Vata dryness, or Kapha congestion. Many people your age have reversed hair naturally through small but consistent Ayurvedic changes like these. Stick with it and be patient with your body.
