Himalaya Under Eye Cream - #27774

Caleb

I am really struggling with dark circles under my eyes lately. It's become super noticeable, especially since I'm a working mom and hardly get enough sleep. I read somewhere that the Himalaya Under Eye Cream is good for this, but I'm kinda hesitant. I mean, I tried other creams before, and they just didn’t work for me, but I keep seeing good reviews about this one. Last week, I decided to give it a shot after noticing how puffy and dark my eyes were getting after my late-night binge-watching sessions. Like, seriously, who knew those late-night episodes would cost me my beauty?? LOL. Anyway, I applied it twice a day, just like they said, but after only a few days, I haven't really seen a difference. Should I keep using the Himalaya Under Eye Cream longer? Am I doing something wrong? Or is there a chance my skin just won't react to it? I feel kinda confused because I've heard some of my friends saying they saw results almost instantly. I really want to see some improvement. Any tips on using it, or maybe what else could help? Help!

Doctors’ responses

Dark circles can indeed be a stubborn and recurring issue, especially with a busy lifestyle that stretches your rest time. Himalaya Under Eye Cream boasts natural ingredients like Cipadessa baccifera and Winter Begonia, known for their soothing properties, but remember, even natural treatments can vary in effectiveness for different individuals based on their prakriti (body constitution) or dosha imbalances. It seems like you’ve been diligent about applying the cream twice a day, which is a good start. However, a few days may not be sufficient to see significant results, particularly if the underlying cause isn’t fully addressed.

In Ayurveda, dark circles can be linked to factors such as aggravated Vata dosha, stress or insufficient nourishment of the Rasa and Rakta Dhatus (lymph and blood tissues). To support the use of your cream, you might want to consider incorporating a holistic approach:

1. Dietary Adjustments: Ensure your diet is rich in iron, Vitamin K, and C, found in leafy greens and citrus fruits. These nutrients can strengthn your tissues and improve circulation.

2. Sleep & Routine: Aim for at least 7-8 hours of sleep. Establishing a routine before sleeping can help your body to relax and signal it’s time to rest. Chamomile tea before bed can soothe your senses and support better sleep.

3. Hydration: Staying well-hydrated helps to flush out toxins that might contribute to those dark circles.

4. Oil Massage: Gently massage almond or coconut oil under your eyes before bedtime. The regular massage can improve blood circulation and rejuvenate the delicate under-eye skin.

5. Eye Exercises: Engage in simple eye exercises to enhance circulation, like palming (rubbing your hands till they’re warm and placing them lightly on your eyes) throughout the day.

If after a few more weeks you see no improvement, it might be worth exploring different treatment options or consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner who can assess particular dosha imbalances, adjusting your regimen more tailored to your constitution. Consistency and a comprehensive routine are key, but if concerns persist, professional advice might be needed.

Whether to continue using the Himalaya Under Eye Cream depends on various factors, especially how your skin reacts to its ingredients. Each individual’s skin can respond differently to treatments, due to variations in dosha imbalances and personal constitution (prakriti). So, your experience might not match your friends’. Typically, the cream includes ingredients like Cipadessa baccifera and Winter Begonia, known for reducing dark circles under the eyes. However, these may or may not show quick results for everyone.

Your frustration is understandable, particularly considering the busy lifestyle of a working mom. Sleep deprivation and potential lifestyle factors can contribute significantly to dark circles. If your dark circles stem more from lack of rest, managing lifestyle factors in tandem with any external product may be beneficial. Be sure to address foundational aspects: a regular sleep routine and stress management should be prioritized where possible. Staying hydrated is also crucial; sometimes, dark circles are exacerbated by dehydration.

If you decide to persist with the cream, consistent usage over a several weeks might be necessary to see any substantial improvement. For additional support, consider adding treatments aligned with your Ayurvedic constitution. For instance, applying cold, brewed green tea bags or cucumber slices to the eyes can help soothe and reduce puffiness due to the antioxidants and ascorbic acid present. Trifala churna (powder) mixed with rose water and applied as a paste around the eyes is a remedy used for balancing various doshas, particularly helpful for vata-type dark circles.

Ensure you’re not applying the cream too closely to the eyelid or getting it into your eyes, which can cause irritation. Simple relaxing under eye massages using coconut or almond oil gently can stimulate blood circulation, potentially reducing dark circles over time.

If skin issues continue still after a sincere ongoing trial or new symptoms emerge, it would be wise to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for a personalized assessment. They can provide insights into whether the current issue is a visible sign of deeper imbalances or recommend further individualized therapies tailored specifically to your prakriti and vikriti (current imbalance).
