Ringworm ayurvedic treatment - #2837

Anonymously

I’ve been dealing with ringworm for the past two months, and while I’ve tried various creams and antifungal powders, it keeps coming back. The itching is unbearable, and the red, scaly patches are spreading to different areas of my skin. I’m looking for a natural ringworm Ayurvedic treatment that can not only heal the infection but also prevent it from recurring. Does ringworm Ayurvedic treatment focus on cleansing the blood or addressing the root cause, like a Kapha-Pitta imbalance? I’ve read that neem, turmeric, and Gandhak are commonly used for fungal infections—are these effective for ringworm? Should they be applied topically, taken internally, or both? I also want to know how to prepare and use herbal remedies for ringworm at home. For example, does a neem paste or turmeric oil provide quicker relief, or are there other combinations that work better? Lastly, are there any lifestyle changes or foods to avoid during the treatment to ensure it works? If anyone has successfully treated ringworm with Ayurveda, I’d love to hear your experience.

Ayurvedic treatment for ringworm focuses on cleansing the blood and balancing **Kapha-Pitta** doshas, which are often linked to fungal infections. Herbs like **Neem**, **Turmeric**, and **Gandhak** (purified sulfur) are highly effective. Neem can be used both internally (as capsules or tea) and topically (paste or oil) to combat the infection. Turmeric, with its antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties, can be applied as a paste (mixed with coconut oil) and consumed in warm milk to enhance immunity. **Gandhak Rasayan**, taken as prescribed, helps purify the blood and prevent recurrence. Prepare a paste of neem leaves or turmeric with water/coconut oil and apply twice daily. Avoid scratching and maintain hygiene by keeping the affected area clean and dry. Avoid oily, spicy, or sugary foods that aggravate Kapha-Pitta, and prefer bitter or light foods like green vegetables. Regularly wash clothes and bedding in hot water to prevent reinfection. Consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance.
