Doctors’ responses
Yes don’t worry. You will be benefited above mentioned Panchkarma treatment.
Panchakarma is a highly regarded cleansing and detoxification regimen in Ayurveda that aims to balance the doshas and remove deep-rooted toxins from the body. The therapies suggested by your Ayurvedic doctor are intended to address your symptoms of palpitation, head pressure, dryness in eyes, and pain spanning from head to spine.
Nasyam involves administering herbal oils or powders through the nose, which can be effective for head-related complaints, including nasal congestion and dryness. It’s often used to balance Kapha dosha in the head region, which may be helpful in relieving the head pressure and dry eyes you mentioned.
Abhyangam, an oil massage, promotes relaxation, circulation, and pain relief, making it suitable for your described symptoms of neck and lower back pain. With Elakizhi, boluses of medicated leaves are applied to the body, which deeply penetrates the skin and aids in alleviating muscular pain and stiffness.
Greeva Vasthi and Kati Vasthi, where medicated oil is retained in a dam made of dough on the neck or lower back respectively, specifically target spinal and musculosckeletal issues, potentially offering relief in neck and back pain through lubrication and nourishment of the tissues.
Navarakizhi uses warm boluses filled with cooked rice to massage the body, which is beneficial for nourishment and strength, potentially aiding in overall body pain and providing stability to the tissues.
Kashayavasthi involves medicated enemas and it is crucial for expelling toxins from the colon, which is often necessary when dealing with chronic conditions impacting the nervous or musculoskeletal systems.
Ultimately, the effectiveness of these treatments can vary, depending on your individual constitution (Prakriti) and the specific imbalances within your system. While Ayurvedic treatments can offer symptomatic relief by addressing the root cause, it’s essential to understand that they often require consistency and time to show tangible results. If cost is a concern, discuss with your practitioner to prioritize therapies based on your most pressing symptoms.
As always, be sure to monitor how your body responds to these treatments, and keep your doctor informed. If you experience any worsening symptoms or require further evaluation, do not hesitate to seek additional medical advice promptly.
Panchakarma can be beneficial for addressing imbalances that may cause symptoms like the ones you’re experiencing. In the Siddha-Ayurvedic tradition, your symptoms could indicate an imbalance of vata and pitta doshas, particularly vata, which governs movement and has a profound effect on the nervous system. The treatments prescribed to you aim to balance doshas and strengthen the nervous system.
Nasyam involves administering herbal oils or remedies through the nasal passages, targeting head and neck-related issues, potentially beneficial for your continuous head sensations and nasal symptoms. Abhyangam, a form of oil massage, aims to pacify vata, promoting relaxation and circulation, while Elakizhi (herbal leaf bolus massage) and Navarakizhi (rice bolus massage) are meant to nourish the tissues and relieve muscle tension.
Greeva Vasthi and Kati Vasthi are suggested for localized issues, focusing treatment on the neck and lower back, which are areas of your concern, potentially relieving pain by deeply penetrating herbal oils.
It’s worth noting, however, every individual’s reaction to Panchakarma can be different, since Prakriti (body constitution) varies. Your treatments will aim to balance your specific condition based on the diagnosis, but there’s no guaranteed outcome universally. Given the complexity of your symptoms and the fact that all medical reports seem normal, it might also be valuable to consider integrating conventional medicine evaluations, ensuring that no other underlying issues are being missed.
If persistent, these symptoms warrant ongoing monitoring. While these treatments aren’t typically emergency interventions, if you experience worsening symptoms, it’s prudent to seek other medical evaluations. Question pricing and discuss options with your therapist to makesure you can sustain any prescribed regimen.
