Start with Kanchanar guggul 1-0-1 Vriddhivadhika vati 1-0-1 Both after food with water Take for 3 months do test report for comparison of the fibroid size.
Thank you for sharing all the details since the fibroid has now grown to around 10 cm. It is better that you get an MRI scan done once this will clearly show its exact position. How much it is pressing on your bowel and uterus, and whether there is any effect on nearby organs. With this clarity, we can decide whether we can safely manage it with Ayurvedic treatment or if surgery becomes necessary
HELLO SUPRAJA,
WHAT IS FIBROID? -Fibroids are non cancerous growths in or around the uuterus -Yours is outside the uterus (subserosal fibroid)-> this type usually does not cause heavy bleeding but instead presses on surrounding organs -Size= it has grown from 6 cm to 10cm- this is fairly large
WHY ARE YOU GETTING STOMACH/IBS ISSUES? -The fibroid is pressing on the intestine, so digestion feels heavy ,bloated, crampy-> very similar to IBS symptoms -IBS itself is a colon irritation due to vata imbalance-> causing irregular bowel habits, gas, anxiety around digestion -so, both conditions are overlapping and making your stomach feel worse
AYURVEDIC VIEW FIBROID= granthi ( a knot like growth caused bu excess kapha and vata with blocked channels) IBS= grahani dosha (weak digestion due to disturbed agni and vata imbalance)
so, your treatment must -correct digestion -balance vata (for IBS symptoms) -Scrapes/slow fibroid growth
INTERNAL MEDICATIONS
1) KANCHANAR GUGGULU= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =classical formulation for fibroids, lymph node swellings, and kapha growths
2) VARUNADI KASHAYA= 15ml with equal water twice daily before meals =reduces fibroid bulk, relieves pressure symptoms
3) TRIPHALA GUGGULU= 2 tabs at bedtime with warm water =mild laxative, reduces toxins, balances digestion, anti-inflammatroy
4) KUMARIASAVA= 20 ml with water after meals =regulates uterus health, balances hormones, reduces pelvic congestion
5) AVIPATTIKAR CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at night with warm water =relieves acidity, bloating and IBS- related digestive upset
DURATION= 3-6 months of regular intake for effect
DIET -warm, freshly cooked, light meals -khichdi, vegetable soups, rice + mung dal -Fruits= pomegranate, apple (cooked if digestion weak) -Spices= cumin, coriander, fennel, ginger, turmeric -aids digestion -warm water or cumin/ajwain water
AVOID -cold,stale, frozen, canned foods -heavy dairy, cheese, panner, curd at night -red meat, excess oily/fried food -bakery items, maida, excess sugar -excess tea, coffee, soft drink
YOGA ASANAS -pawanmuktasana= relieves bloating -vajrasana = aids digestion -baddha konasana= improves pelvic circulation -setu bandhasana= strengthens pelvic organs -shavasana= stress relief
PRANAYAM -Anulom vilom= balances vata, calms mind -Bhramari= reduces anxiety, stress related IBS -nadi sodhana= cleanses subtle channels improves digestion
HOME REMEDIES -warm jeera-ajwain-fennel tea-> after meals to reduce bloating -Aloevera pulp (fresh 2 tbsp in morning)-> balances uterus health -Turmeric milk at night -Castor oil 1 tsp with warm water once a week if constipated
-Your fibroid is large 10 cm- medicines can help with symptoms and slow further growth but complete removable is only surgery -IBS symptoms will definitely improve with Ayurveda care (diet + yoga + medicines) -Surgery may eventually be required if fibroid continues to grow or causes severe pressure. But by strengthening digestion and balancing doshas now, you will –feel much better day-by-day –be stronger for surgery –reduce risk of recurrence

Hello Supraja ji, As the size of fibroid is already 10 cm,you have to be patient to notice difference with medicines only. I recommend the following treatment plan for you - 1. Vriddhivadhika vati-1-0-1 after meals 2. Kanchnar guggulu 1-1-1 after meals Crush this tablet into 2-3 pieces for better results. 3. Chandraprabha vati 1-0-1 after meals Follow up after 1 month Repeat scan after 1 month. Take care Regards, Dr. Anupriya
Hello Supraja ji,
I can understand your concern about fibroid. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊
Fibroid details: You have a fibroid outside the uterus (subserosal type), which has grown from 6 cm → 10 cm.
Symptoms: No abnormal bleeding, but digestive uneasiness, cramps, and IBS-like discomfort.
Doctor’s advice: Since fibroid is large and pressing on the intestines, surgery was suggested.
✅IMPORTANT TO KNOW
1. Fibroids outside the uterus (subserosal fibroids) usually do not cause heavy bleeding but can cause pressure symptoms – bloating, constipation, IBS-like complaints, urinary frequency – because they press on nearby organs.
2. Size matters – A fibroid of 10 cm is considered large. Medicine or natural remedies can help shrink small fibroids (up to 3–4 cm), but large ones rarely regress completely with medicines alone.
3. Surgery recommendation – Your doctor is suggesting surgery mainly to relieve pressure on intestines (IBS-like symptoms) and prevent further growth.
✅SUPPORTIVE AYURVEDIC MEDICATION
1 Kanchanar Guggulu 1-0-1 After food – Reduces abnormal growths.
2 Varunadi Kwatham 15ml-0-15ml +45 ml water – Helps in fibroid size control, regulates digestion.
3 Ashokarishta 30ml-0-30ml after food – If cycles become heavy or painful (not your main issue now).
👉Avipattikar churna 1 tsp with warm water at bed time – For acidity, constipation, IBS-like symptoms.
👉 These may slow growth and support digestion, but shrinking a 10 cm fibroid fully with medicine alone is unlikely.
✅DIET AND LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION
Avoid: dairy (curd, cheese), excess non-veg, refined sugar, fried & packaged foods – all increase Kapha & fibroid growth.
Include: Fresh vegetables (esp. cruciferous like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage). Flaxseeds, sesame seeds, turmeric, ginger, garlic. Warm water, herbal teas (cumin, fennel, coriander). Regular bowel movement (no constipation).
Yoga: Setu Bandhasana, Supta Baddha Konasana, Malasana, Pranayama - reduce pelvic congestion.
A 10 cm fibroid outside the uterus cannot be completely removed by medicines (Ayurveda or Allopathy).
Medicines + diet can control symptoms and prevent rapid further growth.
Since it is compressing your intestines and worsening IBS symptoms, your doctor’s suggestion of surgery is logical.
Ayurveda can still play a role before and after surgery – to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, support healing, and prevent recurrence.
👉 MY SUGGESTION
If your discomfort is high and fibroid is pressing too much consider laparoscopic surgery (safe, minimally invasive).
Alongside, continue Ayurvedic medicines + pathya to balance your digestion (IBS) and overall health.
Wishing you a good health😊
Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
Addressing fibroids, especially ones of significant size like 10 cm, requires a careful approach. Since your fibroid is located outside the uterus and seems to be creating digestive issues, it’s important to consider both immediate and long-term management strategies. While Ayurveda does offer therapies and lifestyle modifications that may aid in managing fibroid symptoms, it is crucial to acknowledge the surgical recommendation by your doctor due to the size of the fibroid and potential complications it might present.
In Ayurveda, fibroids can be associated with imbalances in the doshas, particularly Kapha and Vata. The strategy involves pacifying these doshas while supporting Agni (digestive fire). A diet rich in warm, cooked foods can be beneficial. Prefer foods that are easy on digestion, with spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and ginger, which help in enhancing digestion and reducing Kapha. Minimize dairy, red meat, processed sugars, and cold or raw foods, as these can exacerbate Kapha.
Yoga and pranayama, such as gentle yoga postures that focus on the abdominal and pelvic area, may improve circulation and assist in the normalization of fibroid growth, though they won’t reduce their size significantly. Practices such as deep breathing exercises can be calming and reduce stress, which in turn, helps digestion.
Herbal formulations like Ashoka (Saraca indica) and Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) may support uterine health, but these need to be taken under the guidance of an experienced Ayurvedic practitioner. However, given the size of the fibroid, these should not be seen as substitutes for conventional medical treatment, especially if your doctor has indicated a need for surgical removal to prevent digestive or other complications. Always consult with both your allopathic doctor and a qualified Ayurvedic professional before making decisions about your treatment plan.
Yes as it is a large fibroid better to go for surgery which will be the best option
Considering the situation with the fibroid and your IBS symptoms, it’s key to understand that fibroids can affect digestive health by compressing organs if they grow significantly, as seems to be the case here. Ayurveda views fibroids through the lens of imbalances in doshas, particularly vata and kapha, impacting the sapta dhatus. Surgical removal might be essential if the fibroid’s size is causing significant issues and affecting your health and comfort quite notably. Proper medical intervention should always be prioritized in such cases to avoid further complications.
In parallel, supporting your system with Ayurveda can help. Given your IBS, nurturing your digestive agni is crucial. Start with maintaining a light diet with warm, easily digestible foods such as kichadi (a mix of rice and mung dal). This helps balance vata and nourishes the digestive fire without burdening the system. Incorporate ginger tea or warm water with a pinch of asafoetida to support digestion and reduce gas.
For longer-term care, a mix of triphala can help maintain intestinal health. You might take a teaspoon of triphala powder with lukewarm water before bed—this assists with regular bowel movements and can reduce vata.
Avoid raw, cold foods, excess dairy, and particularly hard-to-digest foods that can aggravate both IBS and the fibroid-related symptoms. If the discomfort continues or worsens, prioritize further consultations with your healthcare provider to understand the surgical necessity. Safety always comes first, and ensuring that the fibroid’s growth is halted and managed properly is essential.
