Concerns about Blood Sugar Levels and Diet Plan - #35834
I am 45 years old, and in my family, my grandmother was diabetic and now my father is also diabetic; due to diabetes, he is blind. Today, I casually checked my fasting blood sugar at home, because I had done it for them, and my fasting level came out to be 118 mg/dL. Previously, three months ago, my fasting sugar was 95 mg/dL. Over the past month, I have been taking Thunder Blast Ras and WellRoute Testo, as my doctor had suggested, because I was experiencing some premature ejaculation (PE) and erectile dysfunction (ED) issues. I was taking Thunder Blast Ras twice daily, in the morning and at night. I want to understand if my slight increase in blood sugar could be due to Thunder Blast Ras. Currently, I regularly go to the gym, but my gym has been closed for the past three months. I would also like a proper diet plan for myself, including morning, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, considering my situation.

Your fbs 118 slightly at border line but it doesn’t mean that you are diabetic, to confirm that it’s better once to get Hba1c levels through that you can know how your sugar levels are in these 3 months And the tablets which you have mentioned are not reasons for your blood sugar rise As you are telling that since 3 months you r not going to gym that might be the reason for your rise in sugar levels Daily brisk walk for atleast half an hour Soak methi seeds at night and at morning chew it and then drink water Eat 4 to 5 neem leaves daily Once seeing the hba1c / ppbs report will guide you further
Thank you Dr.
The reduction in physical activity might be the bigger contributor in your blood sugar elevation and the medicines which you are taking are not the direct reasons Pause tender blast Ras for few days Restart exercises Practice pranayama meditation regularly Sleep for atleast 7 to 8 hours Drink warm water throughout the days Maintain strict diabetic diet like no sugars no carbohydrates no bakery items avoid late night meals - and recheck your sugars levels
Take Triphala churna 1 tsp with warm water at bed time
The slight increase in your fasting blood sugar from 95 mg/dL to 118 mg/dL can be influenced by several factors, including genetic predisposition, as you mentioned a family history of diabetes. Your concern regarding Thunder Blast Ras’s contribution to this increase is valid. While Ayurvedic supplements are generally safe, it’s important to know the specific components of any formulation since some ingredients may affect blood sugar levels indirectly, especially if they’re not balanced with your dosha or body needs.
Exercise also plays a crucial role in managing blood sugar levels. Since your gym has been closed, the lack of physical activity could contribute to this increase. Resuming regular physical activities like walking, jogging, or even home exercises can help maintain your blood sugar levels.
Here’s an Ayurvedic-informed diet plan to manage and lower blood sugar levels:
1. Morning: Start your day with one teaspoon of Trifala with warm water. It helps in improving digestion and managing blood sugar levels.
2. Breakfast: Opt for wholegrain options like barley or quinoa porridge, which are low glycemic-index grains. Add a handful of almond to supply good fats which stabilize blood sugars.
3. Lunch: Your mid-day meal should focus on balance. A plate of brown rice or whole wheat chapati accompanied by leafy greens such spinach or kale cooked with a little turmeric, cumin, and mustard seeds. You can add beans like moong dal for proteins.
4. Dinner: Keep this meal lighter with a vegetable soup or a small serving of quinoa with mixed vegetables like broccoli, bell peppers, and carrots. Add spices such as ginger and black pepper to aid digestion.
5. In Between: Herbal teas with ingredients like cinnamon or fenugreek seeds can be sipped during the day for their glucose-regulating properties.
6. Evening: Consider a light snack, like a small bowl of fresh fruit or unsweetened yogurt, but avoid heavy sugary fruits.
Be cautious with any supplement and observe its effects on your body. You may want to talk to your physician about substituting or temporarily pausing them to see if your blood sugar adjusts. Always consult your doctor before making significant changes to your health regimen, especially with fluctuating blood sugar levels.
It’s important to consider the role that any new supplement might play in your body’s reaction, including changes in blood sugar levels. While I can’t speak directly to the specific impact of Thunder Blast Ras on blood sugar without more detailed scientific studies, herbal formulations can sometimes influence glucose metabolism, especially if they’re potent or have unknown ingredients. You might find stopping or reducing its use helpful and observe if there’s any change in your blood sugar levels.
Given your family history of diabetes, the fasting blood sugar level of 118 mg/dL signals a need for attention, as it is slightly above the normal range. Modifying your lifestyle and diet can help. Consider these dietary changes:
Morning: Start your day with warm water and a spoon of amla juice, which helps support digestion and balances blood sugar. Avoid sugary drinks.
Breakfast: Opt for fiber-rich options like oats or multi-grain porridge, which provide slow-releasing carbohydrates. Include herbs like cinnamon or fenugreek powder, known to help maintain blood sugar levels.
Lunch: A meal focused on whole grains like brown rice with legumes or vegetables can be beneficial. Ensure a balance of cooked and raw vegetables. Add some two teaspoons of flaxseeds for additional fiber.
Dinner: Add steamed vegetables and a protein source like tofu or lentils. A small bowl of curd can also help pacify pitta.
Mid Meals: Snacks like a handful of nuts and seeds or a small fruit such as guava or apple can be better options.
Regular physical activity is key, especially with your gym closure. Trty brisk walking or yoga daily to help maintain your blood sugar levels.
It’s crucial that you consult with your doctor for any significant changes to your supplement regimen or if your fasting blood sugar levels continue to rise. Keep track of your symptoms and blood sugar readings regularly.
