how much copper water to drink per day - #36272

Dylan

I am really confused about something and need help! I've been reading a lot about the benefits of drinking copper water, and everyone says that it can help with detoxification and boosting immunity—really need that since I've been feeling a bit sluggish lately. I recently did some tests, and my doctor mentioned my immune system isn't exactly where it should be. But, here's the thing: there's so much info out there on how much copper water to drink per day! One person says just a cup, another says two, and then yet another suggests, like, the whole 3 liters a day! It’s overwhelming! 😩 I tried starting it out a few weeks ago and honestly, I felt really good at first! But now I'm worried maybe I overdid it? I read somewhere that too much copper can be bad for you... Like, do I even need to measure how much copper water I'm drinking? Is there a way to know if I'm having too much copper or is there like a threshold? Just really want to do this right and feeling kinda lost here. How much copper water to drink per day that’s actually safe and beneficial? Would love your thoughts or personal experiences with this! Thanks!

Incorporating copper water into your daily routine can indeed offer health benefits, but moderation is key. From an Ayurvedic perspective, drinking copper water is known for enhancing immunity, assisting in digestion, and facilitating detoxification, but it’s crucial to understand the right amount for daily consumption.

Generally, it is recommended to drink about one to two cups (approximately 200-400 ml) of copper water per day. This quantity allows you to gain beneficial effects without overloading your system with copper. Preparing copper water involves storing water in a copper vessel overnight or for about eight hours. This process allows the copper ions to leach into the water at a safe concentration. You can drink this water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach to boost its effectiveness.

Overconsumption of copper can indeed lead to toxicity, manifesting as nausea, diarrhea, or more severe liver and kidney problems. There is no need to have litres of copper water on a daily basis, moderation is essential. If you suspect you’ve been ingesting too much copper, it would be astute to take a pause from consuming copper water and consult healthcare professional for any concerning symptoms.

It’s vital to listen to your body and observe any changes in how you feel. Do consider your personal health condition and current medical advice. If you take other supplements or have a diet that’s rich in copper, adjust accordingly. Always ensure your copper vessel is cleaned regularly to prevent copper oxide accumulation, which isn’t beneficial for health.

This traditional method may complement your immune-boosting practices, alongside a balanced diet and lifestyle adjustments, to help manage your overall well-being effectively. Understanding your body’s unique constitution—or prakriti—can further tailor this solution to your needs. Always remember, balance is at the heart of Ayurveda.

When it comes to drinking copper-infused water, moderation is key. Traditional Ayurvedic practices suggest storing water in a copper vessel overnight and consuming it first thing in the morning, approximately a glassful – around 200 to 250 milliliters. This helps in balancing the three doshas (vata, pitta, kapha) and supports digestion and detoxification, as you mentioned.

Going beyond this, however, can lead to excess copper build-up in the body, which isn’t ideal. Symptoms of copper excess might vary from headaches, diarrhea to more concerning manifestations like liver or kidney issues. Therefore, it’s important to keep the amount of copper water reasonable that’s typically a glass per day is sufficient.

Incorporating copper water alongside a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and other whole foods should improve the sluggishness over time, focusing on rejuvenating and strenghtening the sapta dhatus or the seven tissues. But, integrating other elements such as regular exercise, stress reduction techniques like meditation, and getting adequate sleep, all aid in revitalizing your immune system.

If you notice any symptoms arising or shifting in a concerning direction while you’re drinking more, it’s worth consulting with a healthcare provider to rule out copper toxicity. Always base fluid intake on your body’s needs, your activities, and the climate you live in, keeping it supportive for your prakriti – ensuring overall harmony and balance in your well-being.
