In Ayurveda, this condition could be viewed through the lens of a Vata-Pitta imbalance, where the drying nature of Vata and excessive heat of Pitta result in skin issues like peeling and sensitivity.

The first step, ensuring immediate relief, is to stop any chemical treatments. Focus on soothing, hydrating routines using natural ingredients known for balancing Vata and cooling Pitta. Apply fresh Aloe vera gel directly on affected areas. It offers a natural cooling effect that calms irritated skin and encourages healing. Leave the gel on for at least 20 minutes before rinsing.

Incorporate coconut oil into your regimen; its deeply moisturizing properties support skin healing. Gently massage it onto your skin after a shower when your pores are naturally open, facilitating better absorption. Moreover, sandalwood paste, which acts as a calming agent, can be prepared by mixing sandalwood powder with rose water to soothe the skin and reduce irritation.

Your diet plays a crucial role in overall skin health. Favor foods that pacify Vata and Pitta like cooked vegetables, whole grains, and sweet, juicy fruits. Avoid excessively spicy, oily, or dry foods, which can aggravate your symptoms. Incorporate ghee in your diet to nourish your skin from within.

Developing a harmonious lifestyle that reduces stress - an aggravating factor for Vata - is vital. Practice relaxation techniques such as Yoga and Pranayama, focusing on slow, deep breathing exercises to calm the mind and body.
