Morning numbness in the feet, combined with fatigue, can be frustrating, especially when it lingers after waking up. Considering you’re maintaining your blood pressure with Telma 40, this might not be directly related but is still worth keeping in check.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, such symptoms may point towards Vata imbalance, which can affect nerve functions and energy levels. To promote balance and tackle these concerns, you could begin with some foundational adjustments.
First, focus on grounding Vata with a regular sleep routine. Aim to go to bed and rise at the same time daily. A consistent schedule helps stabilise body rhythms aligning with natural circadian cycles. If possible, avoid electronic gadgets and intense activities at least an hour before sleep to calm the mind.
Dietary choices profoundly influence doshic balances. Emphasize warm, nourshing meals that are easy to digest such as cooked vegetables, soups, and warm herbal teas. Avoid processed, cold, or heavy foods in the evening. Introducing ghee or sesame oil into your diet could provide warmth and lubrication, aiding in Vata pacification.
Incorporating a self-massage (Abhyanga) routine before a warm shower may significantly improve circulation and alleviate numbness. Use warm sesame or almond oil, massaging in circular motions over joints and long strokes on the limbs.
Include grounding herbs like Ashwagandha to restore vitality and energy levels. It can be consumed as a churna (powder) with warm milk before bed, but consult your healthcare provider first).
Gentle exercises, like a brisk walk or yoga, in the morning can invigorate your agni (digestive fire), countering fatigue. Prioritize poses that enhance circulation to extremities, like Tadasana (Mountain Pose) and Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose).
Stay hydrated, but avoid excessive liquid intake late in the evening to reduce overnight urination interruptions. Remember, if symptoms persist or worsen, consulting with a healthcare professional for a more in-depth examination would be wise.
