For severe, constant knee pain, especially with your description, it’s crucial to consult a healthcare professional immediately to rule out serious conditions. Meanwhile, from an Ayurvedic perspective, I’ll share some insights that can complement medical treatment. In Ayurveda, joint pain typically involves aggravated Vata dosha or ama (toxins) accumulation. Incorporating specific practices may help manage symptoms and support recovery when used in conjunction with professional medical care.

Consider starting with a warm oil massage around the knee joint using Mahanarayan taila or Dhanvantaram taila – these oils help pacify Vata and provide lubrication. Warm the oil slightly and apply gently around the knee in circular and longitudinal strokes to improve circulation. This can be done once or twice a day, ideally in the evening when Vata is more active.

Dietary changes can also make a difference. Include warming foods that pacify Vata, like cooked vegetables, hearty soups, and whole grains. Cumin, ginger, and turmeric added to meals can aid digestion and reduce inflammation. Avoid cold, raw, and processed foods as they may exacerbate Vata imbalance.

Gentle yoga poses like the gentle supine-leg stretch can help maintain some flexibility without further straining the knees. Always listen to your body and avoid any posture that increases discomfort.

Additionally, herbal supplements such as Shallaki (Boswellia serrata) and Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) are known for their anti-inflammatory properties. However, these should be taken under the supervision of a qualified practitioner.

Ultimately, ensure regular medical follow-ups to monitor and manage this condition effectively. Always prioritize acute medical needs and use Ayurvedic insights to support your overall well-being in conjunction with your healthcare provider’s guidance.
