Seeking Alternatives for Managing Rheumatoid Arthritis Symptoms - #44724

Client_0d5572

I’m suffering from rheumatoid arthritis since 2016 now I’m 33 years old. I started my medications from 2016 for 2 years then my symptoms subsided hence I discontinued medications then after a year or 2 again I started getting pain and inflammation. I tried ayurvedic treatments didn’t work. Then I started my old medicines again however that didn’t have any effect at all and finally now I’m on weekly injections for 6 months I’m doing much better but if I discontinue this treatment I think I might again the symptoms back. Hence I want to try something which can control my symptoms and doesn’t major side effects as these allopathy medicines does

To manage your rheumatoid arthritis in line with Ayurvedic principles, we focus on balancing the doshas, especially Vata, which is often linked with joint disorders. As a start, incorporating dietary changes to support your condition would be beneficial. Consuming warm, cooked meals can aid digestion and pacify Vata. Opt for freshly prepared meals using spices like turmeric, ginger, and cumin, which have anti-inflammatory properties. Avoid cold, processed, or oily foods that might aggravate inflammation and imbalance the doshas.

A daily routine (dinacharya) that includes regular activity is crucial. Gentle exercises like yoga or tai chi could help, they’re known to improve flexibility and relieve joint stiffness. Pranayama, or controlled breathing exercises, can also enhance overall vitality and reduce stress, which is a significant aggravating factor for rheumatoid arthritis. Practice these breathing exercises daily, preferably in the morning to start your day with ease and centeredness.

Herbal formulations can offer additional support. Ashwagandha and Shallaki (Boswellia) are traditionally used to manage inflammation and strengthen the joints. you could consider using them after consulting with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to understand the appropriate dosage and ensure they’re right for your body type and current health status.

Regular Abhyanga, or oil massage, can greatly benefit your joints. Using warm sesame oil or special medicated Ayurvedic oils can improve circulation and reduce stiffness. Performing this massage before bath in morning will help nourish and lubricate the joints, preventing dryness and stiffness typically associated with Vata imbalance.

Ensuring your sleep is restful and sufficient is an additional component in managing symptoms. Aim to establish a consistent sleep routine, going to bed and waking up at the same time every day. A restful sleep helps the body’s natural healing processes. Infuse your environment or bath with calming scents like lavender to improve sleep quality.

Lastly, it’s crucial to check in with both your allopathic and Ayurvedic healthcare providers before making any significant changes to your treatment regimen. They can help to integrate these practices safely and effectively with your existing medical treatments, ensuring your wellness and symptoms are managed without unwarranted risks.
