I gained so much weight within last 2 years - #4612

I am 39 years old female. Mother of twin kids . I am under treatment of Aiims Delhi due to clinical depression since last 3 years. And I had gained 17 kg weight till now from the starting of my depression treatment. Please help me

Let's start simple. Add warm, light foods in your diet which stimulate your agni, or digestive fire. Think of foods like ginger tea, a great morning starter. It helps boost metabolism and aids digestion. You can make it by steeping fresh ginger in hot water and adding a touch of honey, but don't overdo the honey!
Avoid Kapha-increasing foods like dairy, sweets, or overly fatty foods. Try to have your biggest meals around midday when digestion is at its peak and keep dinner on the lighter side.
Try to include some movement in your day, gentle exercises suits perfectly for Kapha. A brisk walk or some yoga can do wonders, and help manage stress too. Start with what feels good and increase gradually.
Self-care is key, especially with the depression treatment. Simple practices like abhyanga (oil massage) with warm sesame oil can help soothe the body and mind. Rub the oil all over your body before showering for 10 minutes, it’s relaxing and brings loved warmth.
Don't skip over your rest – aim for regular sleep timings. Small bedtime rituals, like sipping on warm spiced milk (turmeric with a pinch of cinnamon in almond milk is great), might help invite sleep more warmly.
