Namaste. GBS recovery requires strengthening Vata and improving muscle tone. Herbal Oils: Daily massage with Ksheerabala Tailam or Mahanarayan Tailam, followed by a warm compress. Use Dashamoola Kashayam internally (20 ml twice daily). Diet: Eat moong dal khichdi, ghee, milk, and almond paste for nourishment. Avoid cold, stale, or heavy foods that aggravate Vata. Lifestyle: Practice mild Yogic stretches under supervision. Take Ashwagandha powder (1 tsp with milk) at bedtime for strength.

Oh, dealing with GBS (Guillain-Barré Syndrome) can be really challenging, especially since it's been some time since you were first diagnosed. Even though Ayurveda can't replace immediate or conventional medical treatments, it can help support your body’s healing process, balance your system, and strengthen your nerves and muscles over time. Let's talk a bit about your current condition. So, classic Ayurveda thinks about conditions like yours as a Vata imbalance. Vata is all about movement and nerve functions, so when it's out of whack, you can get weakness or instability, specifically in the nerves and muscles. Now, focusing on your diet, try including warm, nourishing foods. Think soups, stews with ghee. Avoid raw and cold foods. Add spices like ginger and asafoetida, which can help with digestion and balance Vata. Routine's important, too. There's abhyanga - self-massage with warm oils like sesame or mustard, done daily if possible. It stimulates the muscles and nervous system pretty nicely. You could even add herbs like ashwagandha and bala to the oil; they’re known to strengthen muscles and nerves. For nerve strength, yoga and pranayama might help, but go gentle. Start with simple stretching and breathing exercises to gradually improve your muscle function. Even simple leg lifts while lying down, if safe, can be beneficial. Of course, I gotta say, work closely with a doctor who knows your full history. They could recommend specific therapies or even additional herbs that won’t interfere with any other treatments you might be following. Remember, while Ayurveda can support, any major medical decisions should be in consultation with a healthcare provider experienced with GBS. Keep in touch and let your body tell you what feels right. You’re doing your best!
