Doctors’ responses
Considering your symptoms, it appears you are dealing with mild compressive neuropathy, which, combined with high cholesterol and uric acid, points to an imbalance that could benefit from a holistic Ayurvedic approach. In Ayurveda, we can address these issues with a combination of herbal medicines, lifestyle adjustments, and dietary modifications.
For compressive neuropathy, Dashamoola preparations (a formulation made from ten roots known for their anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties) could be beneficial to help relieve nerve compression and support joint flexibility. Taking Dashamoola Kashayam (15-20 ml with an equal amount of warm water) twice daily before meals can aid in reducing inflammation and supporting nerve health. Additionally, Trayodashanga Guggulu (1 tablet twice daily after meals) is recommended for nerve health and to alleviate joint pain and discomfort.
For elevated cholesterol and uric acid, Guggulu formulations are particularly effective. Medohar Guggulu or Navaka Guggulu (1-2 tablets twice daily after meals) helps in managing cholesterol and can aid in breaking down metabolic waste. For controlling uric acid, Punarnava and Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) are useful. Punarnavarishta (10-15 ml with equal water after meals) and Guduchi Satva (1-2 grams mixed with water) taken daily can aid in purifying blood and promoting kidney function to reduce uric acid levels.
To further support the joints, gentle oil massage with Mahanarayan Taila or Ksheerabala Taila can be done on affected areas, followed by a warm compress, to alleviate stiffness and enhance mobility.
I recommend avoiding purine-rich foods (like red meat and certain seafood), and including more fiber-rich, fresh vegetables. Light exercises, such as gentle yoga and stretching, would also improve mobility and circulation without placing strain on your joints.
Hello Mohammad, when did you have chicken pox exactly? Are you feeling increase in body temperature or the body heat ? These look like Vata - pitta aggravation after chicken pox. Please avoid heavy, protein rich food like non veg, red meat especially and sea food. Please give details of your levels here for proper guidance. In the meantime you can take Tab Chandrakala 1-1-1 after food. Tab Amrutadi guggul 1-1-1 after food.
Hey, that sounds really challenging with the leg and hip situation. Ayurveda can be really supportive here, especially in cases of nerve issues and the imbalance happening in your body. Now, compressive neuropathy and issues like high cholesterol and uric acid usually echo a disturbance in Vata or Kapha doshas, or perhaps both.
Let’s tackle the nerve issue first. Ashwagandha is a brilliant herb for neuromuscular health—try taking it in powdered form, mixing about a teaspoon with warm milk or water before bed. Look for a pure form, no additives if possible.
For your high cholesterol and uric acid, Triphala can be amazing for detoxification and balancing the doshas that might be leading to this. Take a teaspoon with warm water on an empty stomach in the morning.
Also, add turmeric to your meals; it’s anti-inflammatory and really good for nerve support. But make sure to add black pepper to activate the curcumin in turmeric. That combo is fire!
Think about your diet too. Favor light, easily digestible foods. Avoid really spicy, oily, or heavy-to-digest stuff, as it could aggravate your symptoms. Ghee can be beneficial in limited amounts since it’s soothing for Vata dosha and offers good fats that can actually support your nervous system.
Moving around gently is also good—maybe not heavy exercise, but starting with light walking or yoga designed for your condition can stimulate the nervous system and next time you see your doctor, maybe bring up nerve-specific therapies like Abhyanga (self-massage with warm sesame oil)—it can be incredibly calming to Vata and supportive in nerve issues.
Oh, please note: integrating Ayurvedic remedies like this alongside your current allopathic treatments is a holistic approach, and it’s crucial to consult with your healthcare provider or an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice. They’d ensure everything’s in harmony and that no interactions mess up the mix!
