Skin tags, known as “Agnikarma” or “Mukhapadma” in Ayurveda, are benign growths that can occur due to various factors, including friction, hormonal changes, and genetic predisposition. To manage and reduce the appearance of skin tags, you can adopt a holistic Ayurvedic approach that focuses on balancing your body’s doshas and promoting overall skin health.

Dietary Changes: Incorporate a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly those with antioxidant properties like berries and leafy greens, which can help detoxify the body. Avoid processed foods and excessive sugar, as they may aggravate skin conditions. Drinking warm water infused with lemon or herbal teas can support digestion and detoxification.

Herbal Remedies: Consider using Neem (Azadirachta indica) and Tulsi (Holy Basil) in your daily routine. Both herbs have antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties that may help improve skin health. Applying Aloe Vera gel directly on the skin tags can also promote healing and soothe irritation.

Topical Applications: You may try a paste made from crushed garlic or apple cider vinegar applied to the skin tags. These natural ingredients are believed to have properties that may help in drying out the tags over time. However, perform a patch test first to ensure there is no irritation.

Lifestyle Modifications: Regular exercise can improve blood circulation and overall skin health. Additionally, practicing yoga and meditation can help reduce stress, which is essential for maintaining a balanced body.

Consultation with an Ayurvedic Practitioner: Since skin tags can vary in nature, it’s beneficial to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner who can provide personalized treatment recommendations based on your specific body constitution (Prakriti) and any imbalances present.

Remember, while skin tags are generally harmless, if there are any changes in size, shape, or color, it is advisable to seek professional medical advice for a thorough examination.

Skin tags, they can be such a pesky thing, right? Ayurveda can offer some natural remedies that might help you manage them better. Skin tags are typically caused by friction, hormonal imbalances, and high sugar levels in body, among other factors. An imbalance in the “Kapha dosha” is often associated with their appearance, since Kapha governs the structure and lubrication, including skin elasticity.

First off, you might want to consider your diet. Reduce intake of sweets, dairy, and fried foods, as they could aggravate Kapha dosha. Instead, focus on foods that are light and dry, like fruits, veggies, whole grains, and legumes. Drink warm water throughout the day to help balance your doshas.

Herbs like turmeric and neem could be your best friends here. They have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties. You can make a paste mixing turmeric with a little water or aloe vera gel, and apply it to the skin tags regularly. Neem oil is also an good option; apply it directly to affected areas, once or twice per day.

Lifestyle shifts might help too. Regular exercise, specifically practices like yoga, can aid in enhancing blood circulation and reducing Kapha imbalance. Try incorporating breathing exercises, also known as Pranayama. Trikonasana (triangle pose) might be beneficial for improving skin health.

Be mindful of stress levels. It really does play a part, believe it or not! Engage in meditation and relaxation techniques to calm the mind and equally the body. This combo can potentially prevent further skin tags from forming.

Though these home treatments can work gradually, they may not resolve the issue completely. If they’re causing you discomfort or you notice changes in color or size, it’s best to consult a healthcare professional or dermatologist for a more thorough evaluation.

Just a day by day approach—it’s about staying consistent over time. Ayurveda blends well with patience, so keep at it! Remember, if you’ve got a health condition or on medication, check with your doctor before trying anything new.
