I am really confused about something and hope you guys can help me out. I’ve always been told that curd is super healthy, and I love eating it with my meals, especially during lunch. But I heard from a friend that we should not eat curd at night because it can cause digestion issues or maybe even lead to bad dreams? I mean, last week, I tried having curd for dinner and ended up tossing and turning all night! My tummy felt kinda weird, and I thought maybe it was just a coincidence. Got really worried because I was also feeling a bit feverish. But like, I don’t wanna give it up completely, ya know? I grew up on curd with rice, and it feels wrong to cut it out just because of a few horror stories. Can anyone tell me if we should eat curd at night or is it really a no-no? I feel like I need to get to the bottom of this before I ruin my digestion!

If you’re keen on including curd in your dinner, try considering buttermilk instead. Buttermilk, especially when spiced with herbs like cumin or coriander, is lighter and can aid digestion rather than hamper it. Alternatively, if you’re attached to eating curd with rice, aim to have it during lunch when the body’s Agni is the strongest, which aids more effective digestion.

Also, a simple practice would be to listen to how your body responds. Everyone’s prakriti or constitution varies, and understanding your current dosha balance might give more personalized insight. For now, easing off curd during dinner might be worth a try to see how it affects your digestion and sleep quality. Remember, Ayurveda encourages balance and moderation, so it’s about finding what works harmoniously for your individual body rhythm.
