Asthi dhatu kshaya with Vata aggravation (osteoporosis with generalized bone pain and weakness). Treatment aims to strengthen bone tissue and pacify Vata. Take Internal medicines Lakshadi Guggulu 1–2 tablets twice daily after food Hadjod (Cissus quadrangularis) capsule or powder 500 mg twice daily Ashwagandha Churna 3–5 g at bedtime with warm milk Pravala Pishti 125 mg twice daily with honey or ghee (for calcium support) External care Abhyanga daily with Mahanarayana Taila or Dhanwantaram Taila, followed by warm bath Diet Warm milk daily, sesame seeds, ghee, dates Avoid dry, cold, and fasting foods Ensure safe sunlight exposure for vitamin D support
In Ayurveda, osteoporosis is commonly correlated with Asthi Kshaya (depletion of bone tissue) and Vata Dosha aggravation, especially in old age (Jara Avastha). When Asthi Dhatu becomes weak, symptoms such as: Generalized bone pain (Asthi Shoola) Weakness and instability while walking Cracking joints Increased fracture risk may occur. —Rx: 1) Tab. Lakshadi Guggulu 2 tabs twice daily after food. 2) Tab. Praval Panchamrit 250 mg twice daily after food. 3) Ashwagandha Churna 3 g with warm milk (or suitable alternative) at bedtime. 4) Mahayograj Guggulu 1 tab twice daily after food (if pain and stiffness are prominent). 5) Ksheerbala Taila or Mahanarayana Taila gentle abhyanga daily. —Diet: Warm, nourishing meals. Sesame seeds (til), almonds, ragi, green leafy vegetables. Adequate protein and calcium-rich foods. Avoid excessive tea, coffee, cold foods, and fasting. —Lifestyle: Daily sunlight exposure (15–20 min). Gentle walking and balance exercises under supervision to reduce fall risk.
