Doctors' responses

I recommend a holistic approach to manage your weight, taking into account your scoliosis, sciatica, hyperacidity, and inflammation. First, focus on a balanced diet tailored to reduce inflammation and acidity, incorporating cooling, anti-inflammatory foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, while avoiding spicy, fried, and acidic foods. For weight loss, try integrating gentle yoga, such as restorative poses or those that focus on spinal alignment, as this will help with scoliosis and sciatica without stressing your body. Herbal remedies like Triphala (for digestion and detox) and Ashwagandha (to support muscle health and reduce inflammation) can be beneficial. Additionally, consider Panchakarma therapies (under professional supervision) to clear toxins and improve metabolic function. Lastly, staying hydrated and managing stress are key components, as stress exacerbates acidity and inflammation. Patience and consistency with these lifestyle adjustments will yield better results over time.

So dealing with scoliosis, sciatica, hyper acidity, it can feel pretty overwhelming when you’re trying to work on weight loss. Especialy when you’ve given a things like udvartana and virechana a fair shot. Weight loss can’t be one-size-fits-all, especially in Ayurveda, it’s gotta be all about you - your unique doshas and body type. So let’s break it up.

First up, might be best if we focus on your Agni, or digestive fire, especially since hyper acidity is in the mix. Pitta imbalances often cause this, so we want to cool things down. Try having a glass of lukewarm water with a teaspoon of ghee or aloe vera juice first thing in the morning. This can calm that fiery digestion a bit.

Considering your back condition - scoliosis and sciatica - exercise needs to be gentle and low-impact. Light yoga, focusing on stretching and gentle twists, can help without straining the back. Pranayama, or breathing exercises, can also be super helpful. It can be as simple as 5-10 minutes of deep, mindful breathing a day.

For inflammation and supporting weight loss, you might want to try incorporating more turmeric and ginger in your diet. They’ve got great anti-inflammatory properties. You could sip on warm turmeric milk before bedtime - just boil a cup of milk with a pinch of turmeric and a dab of honey.

Diet wise, focus on whole grains and lean proteins, lotsa veggies (think greens, squash) and fruits like apples or pears, as they’re cooling. Avoid those spicy, oily foods that can aggravate pitta and kapha doshas. Try eating your biggest meal during lunch when Agni is strongest, hence digestion’s better.

Oh and drink water throughout the day, just avoid icy cold drinks. Like room temperature or warm drinks can be more balancing.

If your symptoms show no sign of easing or continue getting worse, you might wanna check in with a healthcare professional for a detailed diagnosis and get the fine tuning your treatment plan. Don’t put it off for long, okay?

Remember, healing and weight loss are gradual. Patience and consistency are key friends here!
