Sounds like you've got quite a few things going on, let's try to break it down. Post nasal drip can be pretty annoying, and it seems like the dryness you're experiencing in your ears, nose, and mouth could be playing a role in all this. It’s good you noticed a connection to the lockdown period – many people have seen changes because of stress or lifestyle shifts during that time. The garlic you mentioned is known for its strong properties in Ayurveda, but you need to listen to how your body reacts to it. Considering Ayurveda, your symptoms suggest a Vata and perhaps some Pitta imbalance – the dryness, the irritation, sores in the throat, all signal that. Oil pulling can indeed be beneficial. Use sesame oil if you can – it’s calming for Vata. Swish it around first thing each morning for about 15 minutes. This practice is known to help with oral health, can reduce dryness and decrease bacteria in the mouth, which might affect the smelly sputum. But there's more you can do. Ghee, specifically, might help too: taking a little bit each day can be soothing for your system. Try gently warming a bit and taking half to one teaspoon on an empty stomach. It's nourishing and may help with the dryness you experience. Additionally, a humidifier can be a lifesaver if your environment is dry, especially if this dryness happens more in certain seasons or late at night. Your concerns about allergies could be valid, given your history with asthma. Since you've observed improvement after cutting outside foods, maintaining a simple, home-cooked meal routine could continue to be beneficial. Favor warm, cooked foods and liquids, as cold or raw could aggravate dryness. In Ayurveda, balance is key, and addressing every aspect of your lifestyle will support healing. Be patient, observe how your body reacts, and adjust your practices as needed. If things don't improve, consider seeking a consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner or your healthcare professional to explore this further.
