hello Deepa,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Based on the symptoms you’ve mentioned mild headache on the sides and near the ear area, warm sensation in the eyes, and low energy this pattern is commonly seen in Pitta-Vata imbalance in Ayurveda, often connected to mental fatigue, screen exposure, dehydration, unexpressed stress, or subtle digestive disturbances (Ama).

Even if your meals are simple and homemade, sometimes overactivity, inadequate hydration, long exposure to sunlight or screens, or unprocessed emotional stress can slowly build up internal heat and dryness, especially in people with naturally active or Pitta-dominant constitutions.

Let’s correct this gently by supporting your nervous system, eyes, and digestion.

1. Ama Pachana (First 3–4 days):

Start here to clear subtle toxins and reduce heaviness.

Jeerakarishtam – 15 ml with equal water twice daily after meals Hingvashtaka Churna – ½ tsp with warm water after lunch and dinner

2. Internal Medicines (from Day 4 onward): Saraswatarishta – 15 ml with equal water at bedtime (for nervous system and sleep support) Pathyadi Kadha (Kwath) – 15 ml with water twice a day before food (helps with headaches and eye strain) Ashwagandhadi Lehyam – 1 tsp at bedtime with warm milk or water (for strength and energy)

3. External and Lifestyle Support: Apply a drop of Ksheerabala Tailam (101) to each nostril at bedtime (nasya) for 7 days—this calms Vata, helps headache and sleep Practice nadi shodhana pranayama (10 min daily) Reduce screen exposure, especially after 8 PM Drink coriander-fennel-cumin decoction during the day (1 tsp each boiled in 2 cups water, reduce to 1 cup, sip warm)

Investigations (if not recently done): Vitamin B12 and D levels CBC Eye check-up (for strain, dryness) Thyroid profile (if persistent fatigue continues)

You’re already doing a great job by staying active and eating simple meals. These symptoms are your body’s early signals asking you to slow down and nourish it more deeply. With just a little gentle support and inner calm, you’ll find your energy and clarity returning.

Warm regards, Dr. Karthika

Thank you for explaining your condition in detail. Although your headaches are mild and located on the sides above the ears, with associated warm eyes and low energy, your active lifestyle and adequate sleep are positive factors. However, these symptoms suggest a pitta–vata imbalance, possible eye strain, and low ojas (vitality). Addressing digestion, cooling pitta, nourishing the nervous system, and improving energy reserves will be key.

Recommended Investigations

1. CBC – to rule out anemia

2. Blood Pressure monitoring

3. Fasting blood sugar / HbA1c – for glucose control

4. Thyroid Profile (TSH, T3, T4)

5. Serum Vitamin B12 & Vitamin D – for nerve & energy health

6. Eye examination – to rule out strain-related headache

Internal Medicine

Starting with Ama Pachana (to improve digestion and clear toxins) – 5 days

1. Chitrakadi vati 1-0-1 with warm water before food

2. Guduchi kwath – 20 ml with 20ml of warm water twice daily before food

After 7 days, stop the above and start the following medicines:

1. Saptamrita Lauh – 1 tablet twice daily after meals with ghee + honey (equal parts)

2. Amalaki Rasayana 1-0-1 after food

3. Brahmi Ghrita – ½ tsp with warm milk in the morning

4. Ashwagandha churna – 1 tsp with warm milk at bedtime

Diet & Lifestyle Tips

Avoid:

Spicy, oily, fried foods

Prolonged screen exposure without breaks

Excess tea/coffee

Include:

Cooling foods: cucumber, ash gourd, coriander, leafy greens

Soaked almonds (4–5) in the morning

Cow’s milk with a pinch of turmeric at night

Adequate hydration with warm or room temperature water

Lifestyle:

Regular sleep–wake schedule (avoid late nights)

Screen breaks every 30–40 mins

Cooling pranayama: Sheetali or Sheetkari daily

Gentle head oil massage (coconut + bhringraj) twice a week

20–30 mins evening walk for relaxation. Follow up after 30 days

May your energy, eye comfort, and head clarity be fully restored. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for follow-up or adjustment in medicines.

With kind regards, Dr. Sumi
