Doctors’ responses
You’re very welcome. I’m glad I could offer some guidance, and I truly recommend a detailed consultation to assess your unique condition. At 40, it’s important to address not just the symptoms of spondyloarthritis but also any underlying imbalances in your doshas and overall health. In Ayurveda, we focus on understanding the root causes of the condition, such as digestive health, immunity, and stress, which can all play a role in autoimmune disorders. Through a comprehensive treatment plan combining diet, herbs, therapies, and lifestyle adjustments, we can work towards reducing inflammation, improving joint health, and restoring balance. I look forward to helping you on this healing journey and providing a tailored approach to support your well-being.
Sure, let’s talk about hair thinning and fall. It’s a common concern and Ayurveda has some interesting takes on it. So, hair health is closely tied to your dosha balance - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Did you know that excessive hair fall can be due to aggravated Pitta dosha? It happens because Pitta governs your body’s heat and metabolism, and when it’s out of whack, it can lead to hair issues.
Let’s say your hair fall’s mostly due to increased Pitta. First thing I’d suggest trying is a Pitta-soothing diet. Go for cooling foods - cucumbers, sweet fruits like melons and plums, and green leafy vegetables. Stay away from spicy, fried, and too much caffeinated stuff, as they can spike your Pitta. Yeah, that iced coffee you love, maybe cut back a bit.
Then, oil massage, or Abhyanga, is big in Ayurveda. Consider using coconut oil or bhringraj oil and massage the scalp gently before showering. It helps improve circulation and cools the scalp. Its also relaxing, which is a nice bonus.
Stress is another biggie behind hair loss. Try meditation or pranayama (breathing exercises). They’re really effective in calming the mind and balancing the doshas. Spending a few minutes each day, even if it’s just 10 minutes, can be helpful.
Also, keep an eye on your digestion - weak agni (digestive fire) can create ama (toxins) that affect hair health. You might wanna include ginger or cumin in your meals, they can help enhance digestion.
Of course, if your hair fall seems really sudden or severe, it might be wise to consult with a healthcare provider, just in case something more serious is going on.
Take it one step at a time, and be patient with yourself. Ayurveda isn’t a quick fix, but it promotes balance and wellness over long term. Hope this helps a bit!
