Home Remedies (Safe for Sensitive Skin) Aloe vera gel (pure, no added perfume) – calming, hydrating.

Sandalwood paste or multani mitti mask (once a week) – helps reduce oiliness and soothe.

Neem + rose water paste (spot treatment) – for acne spots, not full face.

Drink plenty of water + add soaked almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds in diet.

💧 Hard Water Solutions

Install a shower filter if possible (reduces minerals).

Or, use boiled and cooled water for face wash (at least last rinse).

After washing → pat dry, don’t rub.

🚫 Avoid

Frequent scrubbing / harsh exfoliation (worsens sensitivity).

Switching too many products at once.

Very hot water for washing.

Hello Rutuja,
Thank you for expressing your concern.
At 24, sensitive, acne-prone skin with texture and dark spots often worsens after moving to a new environment, like hard water. But don’t worry, we are here to help you.

✅ AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

1. Nimbadi Kashaya – 20 ml with equal water, twice daily (blood purifier, anti-acne).
2. Manjishthadi Ks tab 2-0-2 after meals – balances Rakta, improves complexion.
3. Gandhak Rasayan – 1-0-1 (purifies skin, reduces acne).
4. Mahatikatakam ghrita 1 tsp at bedtime followed by warm water.

✅ FOR EXTERNAL USE

Kumkumadi Taila (apply 2–3 drops on dark spots at night only).
Nimba-Haridra churna paste (apply on pimples, leave for 15 mins, then wash off).

✅ HOME REMEDIES

1. Rose water + Multani mitti face pack (weekly 2×) – removes excess oil, improves texture.
2. Neem leaf paste – apply directly on active acne for faster healing.
3. Raw honey mask (10 mins, wash off) – antibacterial, soothing for sensitive skin.
4. Aloe vera gel (pure, fresh) – apply a thin layer daily at night.
5. Wash your face with boiled and cooled neem water if hard water irritates your skin.

✅ DIET AND LIFESTYLE

✅ Include:
- Fresh fruits (pomegranate, apple, papaya).
- Green vegetables, coriander, bottle gourd, ridge gourd.
- Drink plenty of water (use copper vessel water if possible).
- Triphala at bedtime (½ tsp with warm water) – detox and regulates digestion.

❌ Avoid:
- Spicy, fried, junk food.
- Excess dairy (cheese, paneer, curd at night).
- Refined sugar and bakery foods.
- Late nights and stress (triggers for acne).

✅ LIFESTYLE MODIFICATION

Practice Sheetali and Anulom Vilom pranayama for cooling Pitta.
Wash your face only 2–3 times daily; don’t over-cleanse.
Use a mild natural cleanser, like cow’s milk + besan paste, instead of harsh soaps.

Your acne and textured skin are due to Pitta-Kapha imbalance and irritation from hard water.

Focus on detoxing from the inside and soothing your skin from the outside.

Switch to gentle, natural skin cleansers and avoid chemical products.

A proper diet and stress management will lead to clearer, smoother skin.

Wishing you good health.

Warm regards,
Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Hello Rutuja I understand your concern. Right now, your skin is sensitive and acne-prone, and it has become more reactive after shifting to an area with hard water. This has made your skin look dull and uneven.

One important reason for this dullness is your digestion (Agni). When digestion is weak or irregular, waste products (Ama) get formed in the body. This mixes with the blood and shows up on the skin as pimples, marks, and rough texture. So, to improve the skin, we need to correct digestion and purify the blood along with local care.

Internal Medicines

Kaishore Guggulu – 2 tablets, twice daily after food Purodil Syrup – 2 teaspoon, twice daily Neem Vati – 2 tablet, twice daily Eranda Bhrishta Haritaki – 2 teaspoon with warm water at bedtime.

External Care Acne Fite cream – apply only on acne spots once or twice a day. Wash face with soft water (boiled–cooled or filtered/ RO) instead of direct hard water.

Food & Lifestyle

Avoid oily, fried, spicy, junk, and heavy food. Eat more fresh fruits, green leafy and bitter vegetables. Drink warm water, keep bowels clear, and sleep on time.

Addressing acne, dark spots, and skin texture requires a holistic balance of internal health and external care. Recognizing that you have sensitive, acne-prone skin is key. Let’s approach this from an Ayurvedic perspective, focusing on diet, lifestyle, and specific topical practices that can make a real difference.

Firstly, your diet plays a crucial role. Aim to reduce Pitta dosha, which can manifest as inflammation and acne. Avoid spicy, sour, fried, fermented foods. Instead, favor cooling, sweet, and bitter tastes. Eat seasonal fruits like melons and pomegranates, and vegetables like cucumbers, zucchini. Stay hydrated with room temperature water, possibly infused with cooling herbs like mint or fennel.

For lifestyle modifications, manage stress through regular meditation or yoga specifically calming practices like Shavasana or Nadi Shodhana Pranayama. Ensure regular bowel movements, reflecting good digestion and detoxification.

Address external skin care gently. With hard water, rinse your face with clean distilled water or use a water softener, if feasible. Cleanse using a mild, soap-free cleanser. Apply a natural facepack few times a week made from sandalwood powder and rose water – they calm skin and reduce acne. Turmeric mixed with honey in small amounts act as gentle anti-septic and soothing agents. Avoid overuse as turmeric stain can be harsh.

Abhyanga (oil massage) with oils like coconut or almond oil before showering can be beneficial. Consider adding a few drops of neem oil to this routine due to its antibacterial properties, but test patches to ensure no adverse reactions given skin sensitivity.

Incorporating Triphala or Neem capsules could help regulate internal imbalances, but check with an Ayurvedic practitioner before regular intake. They can guide appropriate dosage specific to your constitution. Regular check-ups will ensure you’re on the right track, as these conditions need patient persistence and balanced care.
