Chronic gastritis can indeed be challenging. While it’s great that you’ve been proactive with medical consultations, integrating Ayurveda might offer some holistic benefits. Let’s look into what can be done further:
1. Diet Adjustments: From an Ayurvedic perspective, balancing your pitta dosha would be crucial. Though you’ve been on a bland diet, consider incorporating cooling foods like cucumbers and coconut water, which can help soothe the stomach lining. Fennel seeds or cumin water after meals may aid in burping. Avoid spicy, sour, and overly salty foods as they can aggravate your condition further.
2. Herbal Support: Trikatu (a blend of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) can be helpful in stimulating appetite and improving digestion, but use it cautiously since your Pitta may be high. Consider Triphala, which balances all three doshas, promoting gut health; take 1 teaspoon of Triphala churna mixed with warm water at bedtime.
3. Mindful Eating Practices: Ensure you are eating in a calm environment, chewing food adequately to ease digestion. It’s important not to eat when emotionally disturbed or hurried, as this can impair digestive fire, or agni.
4. Stress Management: Since stress is an influencing factor, incorporate daily practices like Pranayama or simple breathing exercises for a few minutes, calming your nervous system. You might also find guided relaxation or meditation techniques to be deeply beneficial, especially if practiced before bed to improve sleep quality.
5. Routine and Rest: While your routine sounds active, ensure you carve out time for rest. Prioritize a consistent sleep schedule by aiming for sleep at the same time each night, reducing digital device usage an hour beforehand.
6. Check Mineral and Vitamin Levels: Continuing with supplements is sensible given your dietary restrictions. Pay attention to ensuring adequate B12 levels (since they were low), possibly including natural sources like Amla or seasonal fruits and adjusting supplements as needed
7. Follow-up with Doctors: Keep regular appointments with your health practitioners, watching for any change in symptoms especially persisting or worsening pain, as some conditions need immediate modern medical interventions.
Incorporating these adjustments over time can often guide towards balance and improvement, though consistency and patience are key. If symptoms remain persistent or worsen, revisiting gastroenterologists for further diagnostic options may be necessary.
