does mastrubation effect on liver - #38571
I am really confused about something and hope someone here can help me out. Lately, I’ve been dealing with some weird fatigue, and a few weeks ago I even got my liver enzymes tested, and they were a bit elevated. Doc said it's probably nothing serious, but like, I can't help but wonder if my lifestyle choices are playing a role, especially regarding, um, does mastrubation effect on liver? I mean, I’ve read a few things online that kinda suggest there might be a connection, but honestly, it all sounds so vague. Sometimes I wonder whether when I do indulge in mastrubation, it affects my energy levels or liver in some way—like could it strain my liver or something? I’m not really overdoing it, but I do it a couple times a week, and after that, I can feel a bit drained, but that could just be my imagination. My diet isn’t the best either, lots of junk food and not enough water, so maybe that's it? Just trying to connect the dots here you know? Anyone have insights? Does mastrubation effect on liver have any concrete backing? Would love some clarification on this!

There’s no scientific evidence or traditional Ayurvedic texts supporting that masturbation has a direct impact on liver health. In Ayurveda, we focus more on a holistic approach to health that considers balance between body, mind and spirit, rather than isolating a single activity as the cause of health issues. However, let’s explore this from the lens of Ayurvedic principles.
In Ayurveda, fatigue and elevated liver enzymes might suggest an imbalance in your Pitta dosha, which oversees digestion and metabolism. This imbalance could be due to dietary choices—like junk food, which can aggravate the liver—or lifestyle factors such as stress and irregular sleep patterns. Masturbation might be linked to fatigue, but only indirectly. Excessive indulgence can lead to depletion of Ojas, the vital essence that sustains stamina and immunity, leaving you feeling fatigued.
I would recommend a diet supporting liver function. Reducing spicy, greasy, and processed foods while increasing intake of fresh fruits, vegetables, and plenty of water can aid in balancing Pitta. Including liver-supportive herbs—such as turmeric and Indian gooseberry in your diet—might be beneficial. Agni (digestive fire) needs to be nurtured as well; regular meals at consistent times can help with this.
Your feeling of being drained post-masturbation might result from other factors, potentially mental or emotional exertion. Engaging in mindful practices like meditation or yoga could restore equilibrium to your system, boosting your energy levels.
Importantly, continue to consult with your healthcare provider to monitor liver enzymes and address any ongoing symptoms —imbalance in Pitta and liver irregularities can sometime indicate a need for deeper investigation. Your wellbeing relies on comprehensive lifestyle modifications, not merely focusing on a single activity.
