Seeking Advice for Pale Yellowish Skin and Weakness - #45089
My original skin tone is medium–dark. Since 2024, my body skin has become pale. At first, I thought pale skin looked beautiful, so I didn’t care much. But gradually, from December 2024, my skin started turning a light yellow. Even now, it still looks pale and yellowish. Initially, I thought it might be jaundice, but my eyes are a normal colour, and the skin is not a deep yellow—it's more of a light, pale yellow. I noticed another sign: when I exercise, like running or cycling, my skin turns even lighter yellow. This never happened before. Earlier, after exercising, my face, hands, and feet would become red and look healthy. Another sign I noticed was that when I clench my hand for a while, it doesn’t turn red—it stays white with only a little redness. This never happened before. Earlier, when I did any activity at home, my hands and face would become red. I also sometimes feel weak or fatigued. For this, I avoid all kinds of fast food, tea, sugar, vegetables , food cooked in oil, masala , and haldi. I also avoid meat and eggs. Only I eat boiled vegetables and rice. I do several blood tests: WBC : 6.62 RBC : 5.13 HGB : 13.3 TSH : 3.14 LIVER FUNCTION TEST (LFT) Bilirubin Total : 0.9 D.Bilirubin : 0.3 I.D.Bilirubin : 0.6 SGPT : 40 SGOT : 44 Alkaline Phosphatase : 68 Total Protein : 7.4 Globulin : 2.8 Albumin; serum : 4.6 A/G Ratio : 1.64 (KFT) Creatinine; Serum : 1.1 Since my family is not in a good financial situation and my father is not in good health, it is not possible for me to see a doctor or get any health tests right now due to lack of money. Still, I am trying hard to save money so I can get several blood tests for my treatment in the future. Sir, I want to know if it is possible to give any tips or advice without knowing the exact cause of my pale yellowish skin. Is there anything I can do or eat that might help the pale yellow skin disappear and bring back my normal skin color? Would it be possible to give such advice?

Your symptoms of pale yellowish skin along with fatigue might be an indication of an underlying imbalance in your body’s health, probably related to vata and pitta doshas. Based on ayurvedic principles, these imbalances can lead to disturbances in skin tone and vitality. It’s critical to look deeply into your diet and lifestyle as potential areas to improve.
Firstly, your current diet seems very restricted, and some essential nutrients may be missing. It’s crucial to include some more variety to support your overall health. You might consider adding ghee to your diet in small amounts—it helps to balance vata and pitta and also nourishes tissues. Cook your rice with a tablespoon of ghee to make it more nutrient-dense.
Boost your digestive fire (agni) by consuming a mix of cumin, coriander, and fennel tea. Boil a teaspoon of each in a liter of water, strain, and sip throughout the day. This will aid digestion and assimilation of nutrients. Also, begin your day with a warm glass of water and add a teaspoon of amla (Indian gooseberry) juice if available—it’s rich in Vitamin C and can enhance your skin’s glow naturally.
Incorporate more root vegetables like carrot, beet, which are warming and grounding, to help stabilize vata. Spinach or amaranth should be added for their iron content, which can improve blood health. Cook these well in soups or stews to make them easier to digest.
Avoid physically taxing yourself excessively. Light exercise, like walking or yoga, especially in the morning sun, can boost circulation, improving skin tone and energy levels. Practicing Nasya (nasal oil application) using sesame oil can strengthen your immune system and address fatigue.
Mindfully monitor your body’s signals and adjust accordingly. If you notice any worsening of symptoms, it would be ideal to seek professional medical advice as your situation allows. Emergency medical care should be prioritized if symptoms become acute or if other health issues arise.
The symptoms you’re describing suggest imbalances that may relate to your pitta dosha. Your current diet seems focused on avoiding many foods, but overly limiting what you eat can lead to deficiencies and contribute to the weakness you’re feeling. Reintroducing balanced meals could support your body.
To potentially address the skin discoloration and general weakness, consider the following guidance:
1. Diet: Include iron-rich foods, such as leafy greens (e.g., spinach), lentils, and beans in your meals. These will support your blood health and possibly improve skin tone. If you tolerate dairy, add milk and ghee to your diet for nourishment. Avoid excessive spice, but include mild turmeric (haldi) in moderation, as it has cleansing properties.
2. Hydration: Ensure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day to support liver function and overall well-being.
3. Herbs: Triphala is a beneficial Ayurvedic formulation that can aid digestion and detoxification. A small dose at bedtime can help cleanse the body. Ashwagandha is also useful for building strength and improving fatigue; you might take it as a powder in warm milk before bed.
4. Daily Routine: Integrate moderate exercises, like yoga or walking, while avoiding excessive sun exposure, as it could disturb pitta and disrupt skin conditions further.
5. Breathing Exercises: Engage in pranayama practices to enhance prana flow, which might improve energy levels and skin health.
Given financial constraints, these basic lifestyle modifications and dietary adjustments should be approachable. However, since the persistence of these symptoms can potentially indicate something more serious, finding a way to obtain a thorough medical checkup eventually remains crucial.
Until then, maintain a well-rounded diet with the additions suggested, adequate rest, and try to moderate stress through meditation or reflective practices. If your condition worsens or new symptoms arise, prioritizing medical attention is absolutely essential.
