Chandanasava can be considered for managing urinary issues due to its diuretic and cooling properties, but a few considerations are important given the patient’s age and existing medication. Specifically for a 65-year-old woman experiencing partial urinary incontinence, it is advisable to first understand any existing pitta imbalances or increased vata dosha that can contribute to such problems. Chandanasava, traditionally used to pacify Pitta and enhance urinary system function, may help address these imbalances.

For a 65-year-old taking nefrosafe, an herbal remedy for kidney support, combining these should be approached cautiously. It’s generally safe, but best to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice. In standard practice, Chandanasava can be taken at a dose of 15-30 ml after meals, typically twice a day. The quantity can be adjusted according to digestion strength or specific health needs. It’s optimal to start with the lower dose and monitor how it affects her condition.

Since she’s taking nefrosafe, monitoring for any potential interactions or effects is essential, as herbs like Chandana and Gokshura in these formulations can influence kidney function and interact with other treatments. Additionally, maintaining hydration but avoiding excessive liquid intake at night may help mitigate nighttime urinary urgency.

Encouraging lifestyle modifications like moderate pelvic floor exercises can also potentially benefit urinary retention by strengthening the muscles crucial for bladder control. Always ensure any Ayurvedic treatment is integrated safely with existing medications, focusing on the holistic balance in the body. Regular follow-up with a healthcare professional ensures safe concurrent usage of these medicines, especially as we age and our body’s tolerances change.

Yes, Chandanasava can be considered for urinary issues in a 65-year-old woman, especially if recommended by a practitioner experienced in Siddha or Ayurveda. Chandanasava is known for its properties to support urinary tract health, typically cooling, and soothing in nature, which may help with issues like excessive urgency.

Before any recommendation, it’s important to understand that the issue of urgency might be related to various factors like vata imbalance or specific issues with the urinary system, possibly an overactive bladder or infections. Understanding this is essential for choosing the right treatment approach within Siddha-Ayurveda.

Dosage can typically range from 15 to 30 ml mixed with an equal amount of water, taken once or twice daily after meals. But, considering she’s taking nefrosafe, a careful approach is needed. Chandanasava may interact with other medications due to its herbal ingredients. Therefore, a more personalized assessment by a practitioner might be ideal to ensure it’s suitable alongside nefrosafe.

Hydration and diet also play a role in managing urinary conditions. Encouraging warm water sips throughout the day can help balance vata. Likewise, incorporating cooling foods like cucumber, and avoiding hot, spicy, and dry foods might further alleviate urinary urgency.

Some gentle yoga and pranayama can support balancing energy channels (nadis) and improve overall vitality. Additionally, consulting a healthcare professional to rule out underlying medical concerns is crucial, especially if symptoms worsen or don’t resolve.
