Hello Anand ji, Thanks for being open about what you’re going through. Dealing with addiction on top of a chronic cold, stomach issues, anxiety, and bad sleep sounds really tough.

But remember, this isn’t a permanent thing or a sign of weakness. You can absolutely get through this with the right approach and some support.

YOUR CONCERN

* Ongoing cold / getting sick a lot * Stomach acid, gastritis * Addicted to: * Tea * Alcohol * Smoking * Anxiety, stress, feeling nervous * Bad dreams: yelling, screaming, hitting while sleeping * Getting addicted because of boredom * Taking regular medicine for anxiety right now

WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS (THE REAL REASON):

Ayurveda sees this as coming from:

1. Vata + Pitta being off balance Vata causes anxiety, restlessness, and makes you prone to addiction. Pitta causes stomach acid, irritability, and bad dreams.

2. Too much Rajo-Tamo guna (mental imbalance) Addiction boosts Rajas (which means craving, agitation). Alcohol and smoking increase Tamas (which means dependence, dullness).

3. Weak Manovaha Srotas (mental pathways) This leads to: Doing things over and over Bad self-control Bad dreams

Big Deal: Addiction isn’t just a habit; it’s how your brain and nerves get wired.

TREATMENT AIM

* Slowly cut down cravings (don’t stop all at once) * Soothe your nervous system * Help digestion and gastritis * Improve sleep and dreams * Swap addiction for healthier ways to feel good * Build mental strength and self-control

FIRST, A CRUCIAL RULE:

❌ Don’t suddenly stop alcohol or smoking, especially if you’ve been doing it for a while. ✔ Cutting back bit by bit is safer and works better.

AYURVEDIC MEDICINES

1. For Addiction & Anxiety

Manasamitra Vataka (the one without gold) Dose: 1 tablet at bedtime Helps with: * Controlling addiction * Anxiety * Bad dreams * Emotional stability 2. For stronger nerves:

Ashwagandha Capsule 1 capsule at night after food * Helps reduce cravings, stress, nervousness.

3. For Gastritis & Alcohol Damage: Avipattikar Churna ½ tsp at night with warm water * Lowers acidity and helps your liver.

4. For Chronic Cold & Immunity: Sitopaladi Churna ½ tsp + honey Twice a day

EXTERNAL CARE

Oil Massage (Daily) Oil: Brahmi Taila * Put it on: * Your head * Soles of your feet * Do this at night before bed. 👉 This calms your brain and makes cravings less intense.

DIET PLAN

✅ INCLUDE

* Warm, freshly cooked food * Rice, moong dal, veggies * Buttermilk (during the day) * Dates, soaked raisins * Cow ghee – 1 tsp daily

❌ AVOID

* Tea → cut back slowly (try herbal tea instead) * Spicy, fried foods * Drinking alcohol on an empty stomach (very bad for you) * Eating late at night

HOW TO BREAK THE ADDICTION (PRACTICAL STEPS):

Step 1: Cut Down the Amount * Reduce alcohol/smoking by 10–20% each week. * Set specific times (don’t consume randomly).

Step 2: Replace the Habit * When a craving hits: * Walk for 5 minutes. * Drink warm water. * Chew fennel seeds. * Take 10 deep breaths. 👉 Cravings only last 7–10 minutes if you don’t give in.

YOGA & MIND TRICKS (DAILY):

Morning: * Anulom Vilom – 10 rounds * Bhramari – 5 times Night: * Shavasana + deep breathing (5 min)

ABOUT DREAMS (IMPORTANT):

Yelling, screaming, hitting in dreams means: ➡ Your Vata is unsettled + mental toxins are present. This will get better in 3–4 weeks with: * Manasamitra Vataka * Oil massage * Less alcohol/smoking

–Keep taking your regular anxiety medicines. –Don’t stop them suddenly without talking to your doctor. –Ayurveda works with your current treatment, not against it.

Anand ji, 👉 Addiction is something you learn, so you can unlearn it. 👉 You’re not weak – your nervous system is just overstimulated. 👉 With some effort and slow changes, you absolutely can recover.

Warm regards, Dr Snehal Vidhate

Short and simple advice. If you think that kal se band toh woh kal kabhi nahi aayega. You have to slowly slowly reduce the quantity and eventually it will stop.

1 cup chai ka half cup karo than 4-5 times a day ka 1-2 times karo fir band hoga. Same with alcohol and smoking. Roj kar rahe ho toh 2-4 din mein ek baar… 180ml ko 90ml than 45ml than 30ml aise krke 0 karo.

Whenever you get craving best option is go for some physical activity like yoga, swimming, playing outdoor sports, playing chess. Donot use mobile at this time else you will get addicted to mobile than.

Eat clean, healthy and home made food.

Practise Anulom Vilom, Bhramari and Tratak Pranayam.

Practise Yog Nidra from a Yoga Expert.

💊Supportive medications💊

Cap. Memorine 2 caps twice a day before food

Syp.Prasham 3 tsp at bed time.
