Hlo,

Ayurveda can support and stabilize your sleep, mood, memory, digestion, and nervous system, but it should NOT abruptly replace psychiatric medicines, especially in bipolar disorder. The goal is: Nervous system nourishment Vata–Pitta stabilization Better sleep architecture Gradual reduction of dependency only under medical supervision

AYURVEDIC ASSESSMENT - Prakriti: Vata-dominant Vikriti (imbalance): ↑ Vata → insomnia, anxiety, dry skin, brain fatigue, poor appetite Mild ↑ Pitta → mood swings, stress reactivity Nervous tissue (Majja Dhatu) depletion Digestive weakness (Agni manda) → dysentery tendency Ojas depletion → low energy, memory stress

CORE PRINCIPLES OF TREATMENT Deep Vata pacification Majja & Ojas nourishment Sleep rhythm correction (not forced sedation) Gut–brain axis strengthening Mood stabilization (not overstimulation)

AYURVEDIC MEDICATION PLAN (Safe for long-term use when dosed properly) 1️⃣ SLEEP + MOOD STABILIZATION (MAIN)

- Brahmi Vati (plain, without gold) Dose: 1 tablet twice daily after meals Purpose: Mood stabilization, memory, anxiety reduction Very important for bipolar tendencies

- Saraswatarishta Dose: 15 ml + equal warm water Time: After dinner Benefits: Memory, nervous exhaustion, sleep regulation Avoid overdosing (can aggravate Pitta)

- Tagara (Valeriana wallichii) Churna Dose: 250 mg (¼ tsp) at bedtime With: Warm milk or warm water Purpose: Non-addictive sleep induction ✔ Excellent choice for elderly Vata insomnia

2️⃣ NERVOUS SYSTEM NOURISHMENT (ESSENTIAL) - Ashwagandha Churna Dose: 3 g (½ tsp) at bedtime With: Warm milk + a pinch of nutmeg You may continue Stresscom, but do not combine multiple Ashwagandha brands excessively ⚠️ If you feel restlessness or heat → reduce dose to 2 g Shankhpushpi Syrup (good quality) Dose: 10 ml morning + 10 ml evening Benefits: Brain fatigue, anxiety, memory stress

3️⃣ DIGESTION + VATA BALANCE (VERY IMPORTANT) Poor digestion worsens insomnia and mood.

- Hingvashtak Churna Dose: ½ tsp before lunch & dinner With: Warm water Benefits: Appetite, gas, bowel regularity Bilva Churna (if dysentery persists) Dose: 1 g once daily after lunch Stop once stools normalize

4️⃣ OIL THERAPY (NON-NEGOTIABLE FOR YOU) Ksheerabala Taila (101 or regular) Application: 5–10 drops on scalp 5 drops in each nostril (Nasya) Time: Morning or evening Benefits: Deep Vata pacification, sleep, anxiety, dryness

DIETARY GUIDELINES (CRUCIAL) Favor: Warm, freshly cooked food Rice, wheat, oats Moong dal, ghee Warm milk at night Stewed apples, soaked raisins Avoid: Cold foods Raw salads at night Excess tea/coffee Dry snacks Skipping meals LIFESTYLE & SLEEP HYGIENE Sleep before 10:30 pm No screens after 8:30 pm Gentle evening walk Oil massage to feet nightly Avoid daytime naps ABOUT YOUR CURRENT AYURVEDIC SLEEP JUICE

The formulation is good, but: Contains multiple sedative herbs Long-term daily use may blunt natural sleep rhythm 👉 Use it only when needed, not every night 👉 Prefer Tagara + Ashwagandha + routine BIPOLAR DISORDER – IMPORTANT ADVICE Ayurveda helps reduce intensity and frequency, not “cure” overnight Do not discontinue psychiatric medicines suddenly

Reduction should be: Slow One medicine at a time With psychiatrist + experienced Ayurvedic physician

EXPECTED TIMELINE 2–3 weeks: Better digestion, calmer mind 4–6 weeks: Improved sleep quality 3–4 months: Mood stabilization, better energy 6 months: Possible further reduction in allopathic dependence (supervised)

LONG TERM INSOMNIA AND MOOD VARIATIONS CAN DRAIN THE BODY AND MIND AT YOUR AGE YOUR SYSTEM IS CLEARLY SHOWING LONG STANDING NERVOUS EXHAUSTION DRYNESS AND INSTABILITY WHICH IS WHY YOU FEEL ANXIOUS LOW IN ENERGY POOR IN APPETITE AND MENTALLY TIRED YOUR BODY HAS BECOME DEPENDENT ON EXTERNAL SUPPORT FOR SLEEP AND MOOD BALANCE SO OUR AIM IS NOT TO SUDDENLY STOP ANY ALLOPATHIC MEDICINE BUT TO SLOWLY REBUILD THE NERVOUS SYSTEM SO THAT DEPENDENCE REDUCES NATURALLY OVER TIME

THE HERBAL SLEEP JUICE YOU ARE TAKING IS GOOD AND CAN BE CONTINUED BUT IT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH FOR DEEP NERVE REGENERATION AT THIS STAGE YOUR CONDITION NEEDS REGULAR NOURISHMENT OF THE BRAIN GUT AND NERVES TOGETHER BECAUSE POOR SLEEP MOOD SWINGS MEMORY STRESS AND DYSENTERY ARE ALL CONNECTED

START TAGARA CAPS ONE CAPSULE AFTER DINNER IT WILL SUPPORT NATURAL SLEEP AND CALM NIGHT TIME BRAIN ACTIVITY WITHOUT FORCING SLEEP

SHANKHAPUSHPI SYRUP 10 ML MORNING AND EVENING AFTER FOOD DAILY THIS WILL HELP MEMORY MENTAL FATIGUE ANXIETY AND MOOD STABILITY

BRAHMI CAPS ONE CAPSULE MORNING AFTER BREAKFAST DAILY THIS IS FOR BRAIN FATIGUE AND LONG TERM MOOD BALANCE

ASHWAGANDHA CAN BE CONTINUED AFTER FOOD TOO CAN SOMETIMES INCREASE RESTLESSNESS IN DRY NERVOUS TYPES

TRIPHALA SHOULD BE TAKEN ONLY IF CONSTIPATION IS PRESENT OTHERWISE AVOID IT AS IT CAN INCREASE DRYNESS AND WEAKNESS

FOR POOR APPETITE AND DYSENTERY YOU MAY TAKE BILVA CHURNA HALF TSP TWICE DAILY WILL STABILISE THE GUT WHICH WILL DIRECTLY IMPROVE SLEEP AND MOOD

DAILY WARM OIL APPLICATION TO FEET AND SCALP AT NIGHT USING SESAME OIL THIS SIMPLE PRACTICE IS POWERFUL FOR INSOMNIA AND ANXIETY

DIET SHOULD BE WARM SOFT AND MOIST NO DRY FOODS NO RAW SALADS AT NIGHT AVOID TEA COFFEE EVEN IN THE MORNING TAKE SMALL FREQUENT MEALS WITH GHEE AND WELL COOKED VEGETABLES

Your symptoms suggest long standing nervous system fatigue with dryness and instability

Stress is acting as a trigger and at your age the nervous system needs gentle and regular nourishment

The ayurvedic sleep juice you are taking is helpful and can be continued Additional support is needed to strengthen the nerves and improve sleep quality gradually

Add Manasamitra vatikam one tablet after dinner daily Saraswathi aristham 15 ml twice daily after food mixed with equal water Brahmi capsule one capsule in the morning after breakfast

Ashwagandha can be continued with warm milk at night

If constipation is not present avoid daily Triphala and use it only when required

Daily warm sesame oil application to the scalp and soles at night to be done for improving sleep and calming anxiety

Take warm freshly cooked vegetarian food Avoid dry cold and leftover foods tea coffee and late dinners Include ghee in meals to support digestion and nerve strength

Do not stop allopathic medicine Suddenly With regular follow up and consistency improvement in sleep mood stability energy and memory can be expected in few months

Hello Jagannath ji,

I really get how tough it’s been for you, dealing with insomnia, mood swings, anxiety, fuzzy memory, and psychiatric meds for so long. But dont worry we are here to help you out😊

YOUR CONCERN You’re 63 years old and have:

* Long-term trouble sleeping * Bipolar disorder/mood changes * Anxiety, brain fog, bad memory * A Vata body type, meaning very dry skin * Poor appetite, tendency for diarrhea * Low energy * Been on psychiatric meds for a while (and already lowered the dose)

Currently, you’re using:

* Krishna’s Ayurvedic sleep juice (Jatamansi, Tagara, Brahmi, Ashwagandha, Vacha, Triphala) * Dabur Stresscom Ashwagandha * A vegetarian diet

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

Your situation points to a strong Vata imbalance, which affects your: * Mind and nervous system (Manovaha srotas dushti) * Nervous tissue (Majja dhatu kshaya) * Mental toughness (Oja kshaya) * Long-term insomnia (Anidra) with anxiety (Chittodvega)

For bipolar disorder, Ayurveda recognizes:

* Shifting Vata–Pitta states in the mind * Long-term stability needs something to rejuvenate, calm the mind, and balance Vata – not harsh detoxes.

Bipolar disorder is serious, and suddenly stopping psychiatric meds can be risky.

Ayurveda can: * Help you sleep better * Lower anxiety and steady mood swings * Boost memory and mental calm * Help you slowly cut back on meds

But: ❌ It should NOT replace psychiatric meds suddenly. Any reduction needs to be slow and guided by a doctor.

Your Current Ayurvedic Plan – My Thoughts Your current herbs are good choices, but: Taking too many calming herbs for a long time can: * Slow down your digestion * Make your mind feel dull * Too much Ashwagandha can sometimes make Vata-Pitta types more antsy.

So, the idea now is to fine-tune what you’re doing, not add more.

AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT-

INTERNAL MEDICATION

1.Saraswatarishta – 15 ml twice a day after food (Helps stabilize mood, improves memory and speaking, and supports bipolar tendencies.)

2.Jatamansi churna – 1 Tsp at bedtime (Take with warm water or milk for deep sleep and less anxiety.).

3.Brahmi ghrita – ½ tsp in the morning on an empty stomach (Feeds your brain, reduces brain fatigue.)

Don’t take too many sedating syrups together for long periods.

External Treatments (Super Important for Vata types)

Daily Abhyanga (oil massage) before your bath Use Ksheerabala taila or Bala-Ashwagandha tail

Shiro Abhyanga (head massage) – 5–10 minutes daily. These are key for Vata individuals who struggle with sleep.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE

✅INCLUDE

✔️ Eat warm, freshly cooked, somewhat oily food ✔️ Rice, wheat, moong dal, ghee are good ✔️ Milk at night (if it doesn’t upset your stomach) ✔️ Small, frequent meals

❌AVOID

*   Fast
*   Eat dry, cold food
* Have too many raw salads
* Drink tea/coffee in the evening

Sleep Routine

* Go to bed at a set time * No screens after 8 pm * Oil your feet and scalp before sleep * Gentle chanting or slow breathing (Anulom-Vilom)

Memory & Brain Fatigue

Your brain fog sounds like a classic sign of low Majja dhatu. To help this, you need: * Regular oiling * Brahmi-based medicines * Nourishment, not stimulation.

❌ Don’t suddenly stop psychiatric meds. ❌ Don’t try a bunch of new herbs at once. ❌ Don’t do Panchakarma like Vamana/Virechana at your age and with your condition.

Your situation is manageable, not hopeless. The goal is to feel mentally stable, sleep well, and live with dignity, not to force yourself off meds.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

Like you mentioned you are a vegetarian, a major cause could be lack of protein intake in your diet. Please start your protein intake in form of pulses, legumes, tofu, soya, and if required some supplements.

🧘‍♀️ Anulomvilom and Bhramari Pranayam will help. But you have to do it early in the morning only.

❌ Donot get yourself into any addictions.

❌ Donot drink tea or coffee or aerated drinks and energy drinks.

❌ Reduce screen time… No screen in darkness and 1 hour before you sleep. Consume audio form of data rather than visuals before you sleep.

✔️ Drink a glass of buffalo milk daily before you sleep; it will help you get a sound sleep.

✔️ 100 steps after both meals are must.

✔️ Eat only home cooked food… Avoid outside food, packed and processed food.

✔️ Prefer natural liquids like fruit juice, coconut water, lemon juice, kokum sharbat over packed ones.

💊 Medication: 💊

Panchendriya Vardhan Tailam 2 drops in each nostril early in the morning empty stomach.

Cap. Memorin(S.G.Phytopharma) 2 caps twice a day before food.

Syp. Prasham 4 tsp at bed time with lukewarm water. Tab. Manasmitra Vatak 2 tabs at bed time.

Bhrami oil Head massage if possible daily or atleast thrice a week.

If you can get shirodhara procedure done 21 days session, Bhrami oil starting from 15 mins to 45 mins and again lowering to 15 mins on the last day.

Remember slowly modifying your diet and taking medicines along with slow tappering of your allopathy medicines will help.

Results will not be seen in a day but it will be a slow process.
