HELLO,

Perimenopause is the natural transition period before menopause, usually starting in the late 40s or early 50s. During this phase -hormones do not stop suddenly -instead, they fluctuate irregularly -ovulation, may or may not happen every month -the uterus responds unpredictable

This leads to -prolonged bleeding -frequent cycles -missed periods followed by long bleeding -mood swings, irritability fatigue

WHY IS BLEEDING LASTING SO LONG? Because -the hormonal signal that tells the uterus when to stop shedding becomes weak -the uterine lining keeps shedding slowly instead of stopping full

In Ayurveda, this condition is called Asrigdara or Raktapradara

WHAT EXACTLY GOES WRONG INSIDE?

1) PITTA DOSHA BECOMES AGGRAVATED -Pitta controls heat, blood flow, and hormones -when aggravated-> blood becomes excessive and unstable

2) VATA DOSHA BECOMES DISTURBED -Vata governs movement and cycle regulation -disturbed vata-> irregular, prolonged bleeding

3) ARTAVA DHATU (FEMALE REPRODUCTIVE TISSUE) WEAKENS -natural aging causes gradual depletion -the uterus loses its ability to hold ad regulate blood properly

This combination leads to moderate but continuous bleeding, not sudden heavy haemorrhage

TREATMENT GOALS Ayurveda does NOT abruptly stop bleeding unless life-threathing

-control excessive bleeding safely -cool aggravated pitta -stabilize uterine tissue -balance hormones naturally -calm mind and nervous system -prevent anemia and weakness -prepare body for smooth menopause

INTERNAL MEDICINES

A) MEDICINES TO CONTROL BLEEDING

1) LODHRA CHURNA= 1/2 tsp twice daily with rice washed water after meals for 6 weeks =strengthens uterine lining, reduces excess bleeding, acts as a natural uterine tonic, especially effective in perimenopausal bleeding

2) ASHOKARISHTA= 15ml + equal water after meals twice daily for 8 weeks =regulates uterine function, controls abnormal bleeding, corrects hormonal imbalance, classical medicine for female disorders

3) PRAVAL PISHTI= 125 mg twice daily honey after meals for 4 weeks =powerful pitta pacifier, cooling to blood, prevents excess heat-related bleeding, protects against weakness and palpitations

B) MEDICINES FOR HORMONAL BALANCE AND MIND

4) SHATAVARI CHURNA= 1/2 tsp at bedtime with warm milk for 12 weeks =nourishes female hormones, supports smooth menopausal transition, reduces irritability, dryness, fatigue

5) BRAHMI VATI= 1 tab at bedtime for 6 weeks =stabilizes mood swings, reduces anxiety and mental exhaustion , improves sleep quality

EXTERNAL THERAPIES

OIL MASSAGE= BALA OIL -lower= abdomen, lower back, feet -frequency= 3-4 times per week =calms vata, improves pelvic circulation, reduces nervous system instability

DIET -soft cooked rice, wheat, oats -bottle gourd, ash gourd, pumpkin -pomegranate -amla -milk warm, not cold -homemade buttermilk diluted

AVOID -spicy, sour, fermented foods -pickles, vinegar -fried foods -excess salt -tea,coffeee, chocolate -cold drinks

GOLDEN RULE Warm, simple, freshly cooked food only

HOME REMEDIES

1) CORIANDER SEED WATER -soak 1 tsp overnight -boil in morning -drink twice daily =cools blood, reduces bleeding naturally

2) AMLA POWDER -1/2 tsp daily with honey =strengthens blood , prevents anemia, balances pitta

3) SOAKED RAISINS -10-12 raisins soaked overnight -eat in morning =improves blood quality, prevents weakness

LIFESTYLE CORRECTIONS

MUST DO -adequate rest -sleep before 10:30 pm -gentle walking -calm routine

MUST AVOID -heavy exercise -long standing -stress -fasting -late nights -excess screen time at night

YOGA ASANAS -badha konasana -supta baddha konasana -viparita karani - 5 min

PRANAYAM -sheetali -sheetkari -nadi sodhana Avoid strong yoga during heavy bleeding days

EXPECTED OUTCOME -Bleeding control= 7-14 days -Cycle stabilization= 4-6 weeks -Energy and mood improvement= 2-3 weeks

This condition is common, manageable, and reversible at this stage Ayurveda works by supporting your body’s natural transition, not forcing it

With correct medicines, diet and lifestyle -bleeding will settle -strength will return -menopause will arrive smoothly to abruptly

DO FOLLOW

HOPE THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL

THANK YOU

PROLONGED BLEEDING FOR FOUR WEEKS IN PERIMENOPAUSE IS MOST OFTEN DUE TO HORMONAL INSTABILITY WHERE PITTADOSHA AND RAKTADHATU BECOME AGGRAVATED AND THE UTERINE LINING DOES NOT SHED IN A CONTROLLED MANNER THIS IS COMMON AT THIS AGE BUT IT MUST BE RESPECTED AND STABILIZED

YOUR FLOW IS MODERATE WHICH IS A POSITIVE SIGN AND MOOD SWINGS CONFIRM HORMONAL INVOLVEMENT RATHER THAN AN EMERGENCY CONDITION AT THIS MOMENT

UNTIL YOUR INSURANCE STARTS THE GOAL IS TO CALM BLEEDING SUPPORT BLOOD QUALITY AND PREVENT WEAKNESS

YOU SHOULD START ASHOKARISHTA 20 ML WITH EQUAL WARM WATER TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD LODHRASAVA 20 ML WITH EQUAL WATER TWICE DAILY AFTER FOOD PRAVALA PISHTI 125 MG TWICE DAILY WITH HONEY OR WARM WATER SHATAVARI CHURNA 3 GRAMS AT NIGHT WITH WARM MILK OR WARM WATER

IF FLOW INCREASES ADD NAGKESAR CHURNA 1 GRAM TWICE DAILY WITH HONEY

EAT WARM COOKED FOOD AVOID SOUR SPICY FRIED AND PACKAGED FOOD AVOID COFFEE ALCOHOL AND COLD DRINKS REST WELL AND AVOID HEAVY EXERCISE

TAKE IRON RICH FOODS LIKE DATES POMEGRANATE COOKED GREEN VEGETABLES AND JAGGERY

IF AT ANY TIME YOU FEEL DIZZINESS EXTREME WEAKNESS BREATHLESSNESS OR PAD SOAKING EVERY HOUR YOU MUST SEEK EMERGENCY CARE EVEN WITHOUT INSURANCE

Hello I get how draining it feels to deal with nonstop bleeding for four weeks, especially when you’re already riding the hormonal rollercoaster of perimenopause and just waiting for your insurance. It’s tough on your energy, your mood, and honestly, it just takes over your mind. Don’t panic—we’ll handle this in a steady, safe way.

YOUR CONCERN

- Bleeding: Nonstop for a month now, flow’s moderate - Other stuff: Mood swings - Where you’re at: Perimenopause (hormones all over the place) - Lifestyle: Some exercise, mixed diet

This doesn’t sound like an emergency, but it’s something we need to pay attention to. It points to a hormonal imbalance.

AYURVEDIC UNDERSTANDING

From an Ayurvedic point of view, here’s what’s happening:

- Prolonged bleeding at this stage is called Asrigdara or Raktapradara. - Main culprits: Pitta’s out of whack (leads to too much bleeding), Apana Vata’s not doing its job (so the flow’s not under control), and the balance of Rasa–Rakta dhatu is off (so the uterine lining isn’t stable). - In perimenopause, your ovaries wind down, hormones go up and down, and your cycles get weird. Estrogen takes over without enough checks and balances, which in Ayurveda means more bleeding and Pitta getting stirred up. - Mood swings? That’s Vata and Pitta messing with your mind channels (Manovaha srotas).

Now, even though this sounds like a hormone thing, we still need to rule out structural problems once your insurance starts. Here’s what you’ll need to get checked (plan for these after Feb 1):

- Pelvic ultrasound (to check your uterus and lining) - Hemoglobin (to see if you’re getting anemic) - Thyroid tests (super important with long-term bleeding) - If needed later: Endometrial evaluation

But if your bleeding gets really heavy (like soaking through a pad every hour), or you get dizzy, faint, or feel super weak—don’t wait. Get to a doctor right away.

Our main goals:

- Stop the bleeding safely - Get your hormones back in line - Calm Pitta, regulate Apana Vata - Prevent anemia and weakness - Help your cycles settle down during perimenopause

AYURVEDIC PLAN OF TREATMENT

INTERNAL MEDICATION

1. Ashokarishta: 15 ml with equal water, twice a day after meals. Great for the uterus, helps control bleeding.

2. Lodhra Churna: Half a teaspoon twice a day with warm water. Strong at stopping bleeding.

3. Praval Pishti: 125 mg twice a day with honey or water. Cools Pitta, helps balance hormones.

4. Shatavari Churna: Half a teaspoon at night with warm milk or water. Supports your hormones through perimenopause.

DIET AND LIFESTYLE CHANGES

❌Avoid: - Spicy, fried, and sour foods - Too much tea, coffee, or alcohol - Staying up late - Overdoing exercise - Hot baths

✅Add in: - Cooling, nourishing foods (think rice, wheat, moong dal) - Fruits like pomegranate, apple, soaked raisins - Buttermilk (just not sour) - Plenty of rest and good sleep - Room temperature water (skip ice-cold drinks)

Yoga & daily care:

- Stick with gentle stuff: deep breathing (Anulom Vilom), short walks - Skip anything vigorous, no inversions or moves that press on your belly

perimenopause makes periods unpredictable, but bleeding non-stop isn’t something to brush off. Ayurveda can help control bleeding, balance hormones, ease mood swings, and prevent this from coming back. But you need those medical checks to be safe.

With the right care, a little patience, and some good guidance, you can get through this just fine.

Warm Regards Dr. Snehal Vidhate

1.Pradarantak rasa 2 tab twice daily with water after meals 2.Pushyanug churna 3/4 tsp twice daily with rice water or honey after meals 3.Lodhrasava 20 ml with 20 ml water twice daily after meals

Include: - Cooling foods: pomegranate, grapes, coconut water, moong dal, rice gruel (kanji). - Iron-rich foods: spinach, sesame seeds, jaggery (if blood sugar is stable). - Warm milk with Shatavari at night for mood swings and nourishment.

Avoid: Excess chillies, sour pickles, fried foods, alcohol (aggravates bleeding).

- Lifestyle: - Gentle yoga (Shavasana, Baddha Konasana) for relaxation. - Pranayama (Anulom Vilom, Sheetali) for stress and pitta balance. - Adequate rest; avoid overexertion.

Ayurvedic Prescription (To Stop Bleeding) 1. Pushyanug Churna: 1 teaspoon twice daily. Mix with Rice Water (wash raw rice and collect the cloudy water) or Honey.

2. Bolbaddha Ras: 2 tablets twice daily. Time: After food.

3. Ashokarishta: 20ml mixed with 20ml water. Time: Twice daily after food.

4. Iron Supplement (Crucial): Since you have bled for 4 weeks, start a standard Iron Supplement (like Dhatri Lauha or an OTC Iron pill) immediately to prevent exhaustion.

Strictly Avoid: Hot foods like Papaya, Pineapple, Sesame seeds, Garlic and Spicy food. These increase blood flow.

Eat: Cooling foods like Pomegranate, Raisins, Cucumber and cooked Green Moong Dal. Hydration: Drink water boiled with Coriander Seeds. This cools the internal heat (Pitta) driving the bleeding.
